Re: Intalling downloads
WINZIP is free, albeit for a short time once you've downloaded it, then you have to pay for it. A freeware alternative I use is CAMUnzip which you can download from http://www.camunzip.com

Re: End of class 421s on Lymington branch?
Unfortunately 455s don't have toilets, although that shouldn't be a problem since the journey time is only about 10 minutes. Having said that there appears to be no other reason why 455s can't be used though.bgstrowger wrote:Surely a 455 could be used?

Re: End of class 421s on Lymington branch?
Yeah RAIL magazine reported that SWT has already started driver training with the 159s on the Lymington branch, so it looks like they are here to stay.Stupid isn't it

Re: Loading Thames-Mersey 4.3 fromDVD
TrainStore's included on the DVD as well. Basically, what TrainStore does is load just the stock for the activity you've chosen; anything else is put in store. It improves performance since MSTS doesn't have to keep in memory lots of unnecessary stock. For some routes trainstore is essential otherwi...

Re: Thames-Mersey CD problem
I've reinstalled the stock and activities: there's nothing wrong with the route. I might just replace the offending Mk2s with Activity Analyser anyway.

Re: Here's a couple of questions for you
With regards to why SWT gave up its 170s. In 2006 I did a fortnight's work experience with South West Trains and found out that one reason why SWT wanted to get rid of them was because they were difficult to maintain. Apparently, when they suffer a major mechanical fault, new engines have to be orde...

This might help you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GWR_Bulldog_Class. Other than that I can't really help you since I'm not a GWR man myself.

Re: Thames-Mersey CD problem
Ok thanks for your advice Lad491! Anyway, I've submitted a ticket to the support department asking for a replacement CD - I dont' want to stomach a full reinstall since I haven't backed anything up.

Re: Thames-Mersey CD problem
Hang on, I've checked my TRAINSET folder and the aforementioned carriages aren't there! Strange since I haven't done anything to the files.

Re: Thames-Mersey CD problem
The stock should have been on the Thames-Mersey CD; the activity (no. 73 Lime-Street Euston) likewise. In fact, I've played the activity before (only got as far as Runcorn before MSTS crashed though  ) and TrainStore didn't throw up any error messages. However when TrainStore asks whether a cer...

Re: Thames-Mersey CD problem
I've copied the setup file to the desktop, reinstalled all the stock from that, and tried reloading the offending activity through TrainStore, but still says that the following files are missing: Error: - Item No. 1 The following File was not found File: 'UK_Carriage_BR_MK2A\mk2afk.WAG' Error: - Ite...

Thames-Mersey CD problem
Ok, this is becoming a habit but here goes. I've tried loading an activity for Thames Mersey 4.3, but TrainStore claims that the following items of stock are missing: Error: - Item No. 1 The following File was not found File: 'UK_Carriage_BR_MK2A\mk2afk.WAG' Error: - Item No. 2 The following File wa...

Re: Cardiff - Kingswear Express Activity
Although I don't know which route you're using, the simplest option might be to check again on UKTS to see if the author has uploaded an updated version of the activity.
