Re: 9F brakes
Real steam loco vacuum brakes don't have a hold of self-lapping notch, they are either off entirely or applied, letting in more air into the brake pipe the further the handle is pulled back. However, Keith is certainly correct that in real life, you can actually hold the vacuum pressure, because the...

Re: King Arthur...
I think it's because N15s were right-hand drive when originally built, and were later converted to left-hand drive. Easier to just re-position the regulator handle than reverse the internal regulator linkage to the valve.

Re: JT Brit WIP
As far as I know, Stratford and Norwich locos were not dual braked like the earlier GER and some LNER designs. I've certainly not seen it mentioned in the literature (although that's not to say that it never happened!
). But yes, the BR versions will be vacuum only.

Re: JT Brit WIP
Only the preserved 70000 loco and BR1 tender models are dual braked, whereas the historic locos and preserved 70013 are vacuum braked. There are no plans to include 70043/44 with two Westinghouse pumps and no deflectors. All locos have a steam brake, which users of the JT 4mt and Clan should be fami...

Re: JT Brit WIP
It's not a preservation pack, so there will be more names for sure.
There will be smoke deflector variants, 3 tender types and a couple of states of weathering, as well as clean BR era. Rob, thanks for the feedback regarding the size of the nameplate, I'll pass it onto the modeller.

Re: DTG 9F
Yes, I noticed that it doesn't seem to have a working small ejector, but it does have a GWR-like vacuum pump, so that the vacuum recharges when the brake handle is in the running position whilst the loco is moving. I can't recall if the Swindon examples were fitted with a vacuum pump.

Re: DTG 9F
I got the original pack on Steam donkey's years ago, and I noticed this evening that I've been given the new one as a result, which is quite nice. :) The exterior model has aged pretty well I think, the cab model less so. I didn't have any issues driving it in the first scenario (the steam chest is ...

Re: Class 52 MEGA Pack
The readme does say that you should extract the Class52assets.ap before doing anything else tbf, and that's one of many reason to do so. That it does but it runs counter to the AP sound pack which does not need anything extracting so anyone who has the pack already installed will not have the Commo...

Re: Brake position on startup
Hmm. Does the loco/unit you're modifying have a combined throttle/brake or a control called VirtualBrake? If so, you'll need to set their default to the minimum value for a combined handle I think, or the maximum value for VirtualBrake, and see if that sorts it.

Re: Brake position on startup
In the loco/unit's engine blueprint, go to the list of controls (starting at about line 410), find TrainBrakeControl (easier if you search for it in Notepad++), and you should see a minimum value, a maximum value and a default value. Change the default value to match the maximum value, which is usua...

Re: WHLE Scripted Carriage Ride Demo
Hi Newbouy, I'm not sure when, but I'll probably upload it to TSD.com for those interested in giving it a try. However, it's got an issue that prevents the scenario from completing successfully, and requires you to wrestle the controls from the AI before entering Mallaig. Otherwise, it works fairly ...

Re: Digital Traction 4MT tank, firebox glow
I think the glow colour is controlled by the script, so changing the colour values in the blueprint isn't going to change the colour of the glow as far as I know. You're best bet is to get in touch with the guys at DT and suggest they tweak the glow colour. But Dave's glow radius fix above should wo...
