Re: Did RSDL Kill Train Simulation?

What a fantastic idea!!! Well done AcornComputer :D

An ideal would be some collaboration with freeware asset makers - "add my loco to your route" sort of thing to make 'packs'. I'd pay for that sort of thing. Oh heck, I already do! :D

Re: Did RSDL Kill Train Simulation?

Admittedly, I wouldn't really dare expect new routes (I've looked at the editor and realise that an entire new route must take months). I'd be just as happy being able to enjoy a new download in an old default route - even in an old default scenario (I expect that's not workable though). I wouldn't ...

Re: Did RSDL Kill Train Simulation?

To answer the question from a novice perspective... I don't think RS/RW has killed the train simulator concept completely, but it has caused a big shift in direction, moving it away from the realms of the novice player who just wants to enjoy custom content at the click of a button and play it witho...

Re: Can anyone advise on a horrible graphics problem?

Thank you!

It is indeed Railworksproc.exe. That's put much better settings in my game. :D I'm very grateful! Thank you everyone for your suggestions - I'm now up and running!

Re: Can anyone advise on a horrible graphics problem?

My in-game settings are all are on their very highest right now.

I'll try reducing anisotropic filtering - see if that does anything (will report back). Many thanks for the suggestions. :)

Can anyone advise on a horrible graphics problem?

My PC meets the minimum requirements; it's an E8500 dual core, 4GB RAM an nVidia GTX260 card and a dedicated X-Fi soundcard. I also have Vista Ultimate 64-bit (wondering if this is the culprit) and nVidia's 185.85 drivers installed... The graphics performance I'm seeing in Railworks is making me wee...

For people who only play - is it worth it?

Firstly, I apologise if these questions are very premature - but I anticipate many are already downloading Railworks. (1) Is Railworks a complete new product or is it an add-on to Rail Simulator? I'm sure it was first mooted as an add-on but now it is branded Rail Simulator 2 at the official site. (...

Re: Lighthouse Interactive has officially been declared bankrupt

Ship Simulator doesn't appear to have been affected. Ship Simulator 2010 is still being developed by V-Step and is scheduled for release the first quarter 2010 according to their own site: http://www.shipsim.com/ShipSimForum/ind ... 308.0.html

Re: A Train 8 - Now Available In UK?

Oh, this is brilliant! Just what I need. Your walkthrough is incredibly well-written and helpful - exactly what the game lacks. I've only just taken peeks at bits here and there for now, but when it comes to playing A-Train (hopefully this weekend) I will be using it in earnest. But even in the bits...

Re: New air traffic control simulator

I've had the good fortune to borrow a copy of Tokyo Bigwing (ATC3) and I have to say it's stunning, with brilliant, engaging play. There is a fine and simple tutorial for handling aircraft dispatch and the paper manual gives support information for playing the same scenarios at 'expert' level (you h...

Re: A Train 8 - Now Available In UK?

Thank you MOST gratefully! This should certainly give me a kick-start - especially the location of materials (I had indeed been parking them right on top of my stations!) and also about setting points. I'd tried this already, but hadn't set any kind of timetable for the branching, and the train seem...

Re: FREE Legal Download - Transport Tycoon Deluxe

A belated thanks for posting about this from a very old Transport Tycoon fan. I couldn't get the original TTD working in XP before (a very sad loss) but I've just tried playing the OpenTTD and it works a treat on Vista 64-bit. I'm thrilled!!! How wonderful that this brilliant game has been rescued a...

Re: A Train 8 - Now Available In UK?

ali3nsxaddict : what you're proposing to do with your site sounds fantastic and much-needed; I'm sure I'll be one of the first visitors!! :D On obtaining the game: UK customers can order a boxed version online from Game , but there is no Amazon appearance(!) yet which could well hurt its initial tak...

Re: New air traffic control simulator

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but has anyone tried atc3 yet? I would feel much happier if there was a demo to try but there isn't. The review looks most promising (amazing screenshots), but the YouTube video didn't win me over one bit. £60 is a serious price tag and for that price the play shoul...

Re: Should I buy Flight Sim X?

I recently purchased the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke (comes with a 3-lever quadrant for throttle etc) and it's so much better than my regular joystick, but it is a tad expensive (ranges from £81 - £125 depending on where you buy). I recommend reputable sellers because the earliest batch carried a button ...
