Re: Planned Routes
There is, actually, quite a lot of 'default' models that come with RS, including a reasonable selection of track textures, but yes, we will all have to wait for bespoke freeware models to appear.

Re: configure new route
I have my route starting at the correct origin now, but I had to manually edit the file routes.xml to set the origin in there.
Still no sign of my markers, but not had much time to play with it.

If it is based on your presentation at the Train Sim Convention, then I will thoroughly recommend it,

Re: Marker file problems
Yes, the Asset Manager does not seem to set up things quite right. It creates an entry in the file routes.xml in the Content folder, but it sets the origin to 0,0 despite what you enter in the template. Edit the file manually, as per this other thread, and things get better.

Re: configure new route
I spotted one problem with my marker file, the .dcsv file the asset manager created was empty. I only had one marker in my source .csv file, and I had not added a line feed at the end. With the line feed, my marker now appears in the .dcsv file, but still not in any route.

Re: configure new route
For 'template' I assume you mean 'Blueprint'. I have done as you said, and my new route appears in the route list, but if I try to create a new route it does not appear as a template to copy. If I enter my new route, I end up at 0,0 and unable to directly go to the origin I specified for my route. I...

Re: 100m radius curve
I think it depends on the type of track you are laying. Yard track does tighter bends.

OK, I have been trying all morning too. Got the dev tools about an hour ago, and just this minute got the docs.

Re: Developer Tools Tips
You have to 'right click' on each link, and select 'Save Target As...' But first you have to accept the licence. If you already have a login id for the forums, log in, then go to your account profile. At the bottom it will say you can not download the dev tools. It gives a 'click here' link to sign ...

I think it is a sort of 'Natural Selection' process. If you can't work out how to download and install the tools, then you are obviously not clever enough to use them :D (note, I have managed to download the tools - still trying to get the docs - but I have not tried installing them yet, so I don't ...

Re: Down again!
In the UK, 'licence' is spelt correctly with two 'c's. However, we use an 's' in 'licensing'.
Also, the name Mark is spelt with a 'k'

I like oxymorons, like 'Military Intelligence'
A teacher once told me about double negatives, but that there was no such thing as a double positive - yeah, right.

Re: Bath to Templecombe
I thought the 'chuffs' came from the pistons changing direction? So what makes that sound then? The 'chuff' is produced at the end of each stroke, when the used steam is let out of the cylinders. Steam locomotives have power strokes in both directions (unlike internal combustion engines), so a cyli...

Re: OK, I give up...
I don't see what the problem is. MSTS has manual points in the yards, and switching them was limited to the one nearest the loco, so navigating through a complex yard had to be done at dead slow, especially when points were really close together. Being able to set up the complete path to the require...
