Re: How to Make Simple Signs for Rail Simulator

Hi Geoff Good fun isn't it?! I've played around with quite a few textures and other bits and pieces but no plans to release anything until my route is ready. One thing I did enjoy doing was adding smoke to all those chimneys on the "stock" buildings. I found the "smoke" effects at C:\Program Files\R...

Re: KRStool up

Hi jkxx74, Downloading was no problem from both URLs. Downloaded zip file was 366kb size which I think is correct. Still getting the "krstool has encountered a problem and needs to close." message whichever download I use. I've unzipped to a new folder and removed the read only attributes. Serz.exe...

Re: In and Around the Forest of Dean

Wow is the word here Nick. Excellent work. The various parts such as Roads, Stations and Scenery items blend in well with each other. Your trackwork in such complex areas is excellent. Attention to detail is also spot on. I like your work with the shrubs, trees and texturing. I have found with tree...

Re: How to Make Simple Signs for Rail Simulator

Hi all I have been checking up on the rules for re-texturing Rail Simulator default items and as far as I can tell, adding new textures to billboards or altering the colour of the green bench to red is OK as long as those items are not re-distributed to anywhere. Only free items from the Rail Simul...

In and Around the Forest of Dean

After 5 months + laying track I thought I would put up some screenshots etc. First some background: Track layout: I've relied upon R A Cooke's excellent Track Layout Diagrams and applied some of my own rules. As the only extant lines are the main Gloucester to Chepstow and the short branch operated ...

Copy and Paste

I seem to have lost my copy and paste functions in the editor. Tried everything and just can't get them to work. I'm not doing anything different (I think!), select object, select copy, move to where I want the object and select paste :-? . Bit of a pain as I use this all the time in putting down ve...

Re: South Wales Mainline

I think RSadam said something about putting different tiles together, and it could be possible to link the 2 aforementioned routes, + my brstol route, + bristol to exeter, + oxford to paddington, and also exeter plymouth., thus meaning all needs doing then is for someone to do cornwall, and maybe t...

Re: KRStool up

Nick, were you able to download from the alternate site? This is a different server and should hopefully take care of problems people are experiencing downloading from the primary site. Hi jkxx74, Downloading was no problem from both URLs. Downloaded zip file was 366kb size which I think is correct...

Re: South Wales Mainline

Hi I have avoided adding scenery to any part of the route I am not completely happy with as being correct. Tomorrow I'll do the track to Cardiff as I've already done the google Earth decals to there. (all 270 of them!). regards Charlie Look forward to that Charlie - see you at Severn Tunnel Junctio...

Re: South Wales Mainline

Looking good. As Nick says don't worry about time. Producing a Route takes a lot of time and effort. I started mine in December of last year and am only now reaching the Testing Phase. Nick from that 2D map your Route looks very interesting. Regards James. Hi James, I only put the map up there to s...

Re: KRStool up

Thanks :) hopefully it should be easy and helpful for those trying to use it. For those who are still unable to get the file, looks like you are getting a connection reset halfway through the download. Not sure why as it only happens to some people but I figured I'd post the current version here: h...

Re: South Wales Mainline

That's looking really good :D. I think you have made excellent progress in a short space of time. Don't worry about how long it is going to take - mine has taken me 5 months so far and I've still got about 70% of the scenery, buildings etc to do!
