Re: Gradient profiles needed! Can I use Google?
Thanks for your input guys and, after a good few hours of tracklaying, I have completed the lines in question. In the absence of the profile then "best guess" from the terrain/maps etc. is the order of the day. I did that for my Swedish MSTS route and never received any complaints. Let's face it, wh...

Re: Gradient profiles needed! Can I use Google?
Thanks Vern, I think I just needed someone to tell me to get on with it and do my best :D. I have checked all the books etc and have bought a few out of print copies for the Forest lines so will now just go with maps etc for the remainder. Problem I always have in being a bit of a perfectionist is t...

Re: Gradient profiles needed! Can I use Google?
I think you are right. I can't believe that all those signal box diagrams/gradient profiles have disappeared into thin air! One thought that did occur to me was to use the elevation data from Google Earth and create a profile from that. Problem is I don't know how accurate the data is and where I ha...

Thanks for the prompt reply - as soon as I posted the question I noticed on another thread that you were off to the US for a fortnight
. Thanks for the quick fix - I'll try some more signage later today....

Gradient profiles needed! Can I use Google?
I am building the routes in and around the Forest of Dean, within the area Chepstow - Grange Court - Ross - Monmouth. No problem with gradient profiles within the Forest but I need to source those for the Grange Court to Ross line, the Ross to Monmouth line and the Wye Valley line from Momouth down ...

Re: Digital traction...sounds
As a newcomer to both KRS and this forum I am totally baffled by RSAdam's comments and apparent paranoia when it comes to the issues raised in this thread. Again, as a newcomer, I would have thought that it is self evident that the success of Rail Simulator is to a large extent dependent on the quan...

Re: Enamel Station Signs Kit Tutorial. Part 3
Sly Having struggled with Excel when you first uploaded this kit, I have only just got round to start the "signing" of my route and I've hit a problem. :( It is probably just a side effect of old age but if I follow the tutorials and overwrite the nameboard.TGA or .BMP file as per tutorial Part 2, a...

Re: Support for 3DS Max 2009
Hi engin87 Autodesk's SP2 is for Max9 - I have Max 2009! :) What I'm actually looking for is some indication from RS as to when they will release Art Plugins for Max 2009 as this is the latest vesion of Max. I notice that seanoc17 has the same problem as me - http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.p...

Single slips
I am probably just being thick or something but how do I create a single slip? No problem creating and welding a crossing but when I get to the second weld I only seem to be able to create a double slip..... :-? I get the white slip outline OK but what next to create either a "right" or "left" singl...

Support for 3DS Max 2009
Hi there
Have just installed 3DS Max 2009 and tried to run it with the Max 9 plugin - needless to say it won't work.
Any ideas or when we are likely to see a 2009 plugin??
Thanks....Nick

Re: Enamel Station Sign Kit Tutorial Part 1
Sly - according to the feedback my partner has got from MS the change was done because of security and indexing (??)
Thanks for the offer of v2 - I was just about to start on it! If you want me to test under 2007 just PM me... thanks again, Nick

Re: Enamel Station Sign Kit Tutorial Part 1
Sly There does appear to be an Excel 2007 issue that is affecting this. Under 2003 you have used a combination of drawing shapes and control text boxes which are then assembled in their various groups - no problem doing this with 200, 2003 etc, standard practice. Under 2007, and I quote the help fil...

Re: Enamel Station Sign Kit Tutorial Part 1
Not as easy as I first thought! Uninstalled Office 2007 and then installed Office 2000, 2003 and 2007 in that order....Excel working fine in all 3 versions with a number of spreadsheets. However, Totems and Signs.xls is doing strange things in 2007 - enabled all macros and the regional colour button...
