Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Comes from my employment heritage, at Eastleigh we were taught from an early age that all things Western/GWR/Swindon etc. were bad. These days I have a slightly more enlightened attitude, as some of my clients are from what used to be the Western Region! Also I happen to (very slowly) be doing a ro...

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Hi All, I have built a quick test track, dead straight with three passing loops on it. I have only provided a starting signal at the end of each loop to protect the single line ahead. I used the default latice single arm home 2T signal, one Tcube being placed just before the next loop's entrance po...

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Personally I would not wish to sacrifice historical accuracy for the sake of time, as eventually either John or myself will get to producing suitable GWR signals for routes such as yours, however its all down to individual modellers priorities. Currently I am in the process of building a kit of LSW...

Re: More signalling help required!
Mark Decided I'm going to bite the bullet this evening and "upgrade" the line following my assumption that it has survived Beeching! More passing loops and try to do something about that Coleford Junction where I can have up to 3 AI trains stacked up... I take your point about priorities and that is...

Re: More signalling help required!
You could try the following: 21 signal to h 1T with Link1 adjacent to 2/4 signal. 22 signal to h 1T with Link1 adjacent to 2/4 signal. 2/4 signal move Link1 to between 11 points and 13 points, Link2 to between 11 points and 17 points. 28 signal h 0T as shown, however this may cause problems when po...

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Hi, I don't know if this will be of any real help in solving the AI trains on single track lines problem, but I am building my single track branch now and will be using this plan of attack for my AI trains:........ regards Ted. Ted, I'll be interested to see how you get on once you start running th...

Re: Ground signals - help needed!
Mark,
Once again thanks for your help - worked a treat. I was able to tweak John's blueprints etc to create a 3T version and test the whole setup in a scenario - all working well. Nick

Re: More signalling help required!
Thanks Mark, I'll give that a go this evening. I have to admit that the more I get into signalling the more I am enjoying it! I'm also having to face the fact that trying to accurately recreate a 1930s route is more difficult than it seems - I've already hit problems in scenario creation because the...

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Hi Reppo I have posted a similar problem at http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=278&t=85219#p1022974 except that in my case the AI trains enter the single line section and crash into the driver train! I think it is a problem with signals as I have also noticed AI trains not stopping at red ...

More signalling help required!
Sorry about this guys but I am fast realising that signalling, whilst being fun and addictive, is a science in itself! How do I replicate token working of a single track section? At the moment the despatcher is playing havoc - head on collisions all the time. I am trying to signal a junction as per ...

Re: Ground signals - help needed!
Mark Thanks for that - absolutely brilliant! I'll check out John's GW versions but I think they are the same links. At least I can now follow your logic on this example and apply it to the rest of my route - it's a lot easier to follow a worked example than just follow the theory, must be my age.......

Re: Secondary speed limits
Nick, The design of the the RailSim UK differential speed limit signs seems to be correct in having the lower (secondary) limit at the top. See here for all you could possibly need to know about trackside signs! http://www.rgsonline.co.uk/docushare/dsweb/Get/Rail-41371/GIRT7033.pdf Andy, thanks for...

Re: Secondary speed limits
Andy, Just reran the standard scenario on my own route and got "busted"! Also walked down the road to the WCML (it's only a couple of hundred yards away) and had a look at the signs there - dual speed signs! Teach me to keep my eyes open :-? . Looked at the Cajun route and see what you mean about th...

Hi Andy, I ran the freights in standard scenarios on my own route. I've installed the Cajon Pass route but have yet to try it - I'll experiment a bit today and see what happens...

Re: Secondary speed limits
Also the F3 Driver's Guide only ever shows the higher limit but, if you run a scenario, the scenario summary that you get when you finish seems to mark you correctly. In a freight train you get "busted" for exceeding the lower limit, even though it's labelled "P", but in a passenger train you only ...
