Re: Newcastle to York "Then & Now"
Cheers Rich. What I need to guage now is whether people would actually want it? I imagine they would, especially with the electric traction that is currently in development. So calling on all you guys on here, please leave comments on what you think and whether you would be interested in a fully fun...

Newcastle to York "Then & Now"
Hello all, thought I would post a few screenshots of the differences on the ECML from the Newcastle to York route. The shots marked "1979" are taken from the "out of the box" route and the 2009 shots from my modifications. Haughton Road, Darlington 1979 http://i41.tinypic.com/sln2gh.jpg Haughton Roa...

Re: Newcastle to York "Electrified"
Might as well add another couple of videos to the collection! The first one shows a class 66 being routed onto the slow lines at Ferryhill South Junction which is represented as it is in 2009. As in the previous video, electrifying the route does cause it to suffer in the framerate department at tim...

Re: Newcastle to York Electrification
Hi mate. As I didn't know exactly how to just "change" the track to electrified I just relaid all of the track that you see electrified as it isn't as simple as just selecting a piece of track and changing it over. This removes signals and speed limits. But, I figured, if I am going to mess about wi...

Newcastle to York "Electrified"
Well, not all of it! :D I have been working on modernising the Newcastle to York route, not as an ongoing project, but as a test, mainly as a response to questions I brought up about it in another thread. Some people may find the video tedious initially, but later on, when it gets to the Tursdale ar...

Re: Newcastle to York Electrification
Well, although I still have no intention of taking the project on, I did get carried away and "modernised" more than I intended. Below is a video taken between Durham & Ferryhill, the first 5 minutes or so just show the core route with electrification as an extra. Once I got to the Tursdale area, I ...

Re: Newcastle to York Electrification
Well, I have no plans to do it myself really, even more so if someone is already busy with it. I have been messing around though and it does make for a good game of spot the difference!

Re: Newcastle to York Electrification
Hi, Yes i am interested, however we aint got no electric traction! Mart But, modernising the route to todays standard is a huge job in itself, especially if it has to be done by relaying all track. By the time it would be complete, I imagine we would have electric traction. If not, at least a moder...

Re: Newcastle to York Electrification
Very surprised that this thread hasn't gained more interest! Would nobody like a modified version of the route? I repeat, has anybody managed to do it and is keeping quiet about it for now or is there just a fundamental problem with the track rule that cannot be worked around?

Newcastle to York Electrification
This was once a topic of discussion when RS first arrived and I even saw some nice screenshots of Durham railway station showing lengthened platforms and electrified track. After doing a search of the board, I cannot find nothing recent on this topic so was wondering if anyone was still doing this a...

Re: Bishop Auckland to Saltburn
After posting a few videos recently, I thought it was time for more screenshots. As ever, they are still work in progress, certain aspects need fine tuning and I always end up changing something! More detailed descriptions of each shot can be found at my blog, http://batosaltburnrs.blogspot.com/ Eag...
