Re: Brand New User of Rail Simulator
Also worth getting the Upgrade Mk1 at http://www.railsimulator.com if you haven't already.
I believe they toned down the "points against you make you derail" so you can hit them and knock them open.. although signalmen and rail management frown on such behaviour

Re: Markers not showing
Ok, cracked it! You can have 2 types of markers in RS, named markers or series markers. Named markers give you big flags on the terrain, series markers draw a line. In the xml blueprint you can name either one and attach the correct style of csv. If you name the csv in both places, it fails and show...

Re: Prototype vs Freelance Routes
I think the problem for a lot of people is they try to bite off more than they chew Hehe! Yeah put me down for that.. started my route off and had plenty of track down in 2-3 days, learning to DEM the ground and create cuttings and embankments, this is easy I thought... 2 weeks later I have about 3...

Re: Makeing Tracks and Rail Simulator or is it a wish????
Are you willing to pay £1000 per item of content as part of obtaining a commercial licence? Thought not, so why should Making Tracks (MT) be? Blue Arrow, before it went belly-up, made a conscious decision not to do so for that reason, I guess MT have done the same. Have a read of Part 2 of the lice...

Re: WIP Thread - anything goes (within reason)
http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9233/n2t16oq8.jpg You'll probably notice the BR logo is missing from it's side tank, that's because VRay was rendering the opacity mapped logo slightly oddly, so I removed it. This is still very much a WIP, have to animate and finish the normal maps before attempt...

Re: Markers not showing
Ok, you used Mike's excellent tools to make a blueprint, and you have your csv file, which you named in the blueprint creator. You then need to put these into your very own developers directory: C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Source\<yournamehere>\,<yourroutenamehere>\RouteMarkers Obviously you rep...

Re: Marker file will not show
Did you get any error messages in the bottom box when you exported the blueprint and csv from the Asset Editor?

Very nice work! Love the worn look, the moss and rain streaks are excellent.

Re: General User Created Route Screenshots [Large Files]
Ok, I've been working on this for about 10 days, my first ever route creation despite playing MSTS to death, I never got on with the route creator. So be gentle.. but be honest :) Constructive criticism is always useful. I'm modelling a semi-prototypical Portsmouth to Southampton 1955 route. I say s...
