Re: Old Dalby
In RS you can get away with free version as decals are clearer in the game, but in RW they're not so good and areas of high detail are very easy to do with 25m decals, it's an excellent tool, download it, try it out see how you get on with it, then you will get the full version

Re: JT release new shots of Bristol-Exeter
Noticed the information had been updated sometime this week, but the new screenshots and video are new to me. Looks excellent overall, weston milton looks just right! though not sure the end of weston quite catches the feel of the actual area... :-? but overall it looks excellent! Really can't wait ...

Re: New update here!
getting annoyed now with the editor crashing when trying to lay track, always crashes when laying the junctions, as i hear over people have been experiencing. I like a lot of the other features, got the slipping steam locos (even if it does mean that massive annoying sign, though haven't looked to t...

Re: New update here!
Finally! Got the 7F Slipping properly, simply a case of changing eTrue to eFalse in the bogies>Front xml/bin. Time to apply it to the rest of the locos, Want to see 6024 slipping :D Worked a treat just had to add the line to define bogie as powered, and set it as false. Very impressive seeing the va...

Re: New update here!
Think i've worked out how to make the Steam Locos slip. you have to make the front Bogie unpowered, as standard they're both powered, and evidently it takes both bogies as powered, but only animates the slipping on the first one. hmmmm..... argh, can't remember how to edit the xml...

Still enjoying this loco, the sounds are excellent, and one of the best looking locos in real life, is also a stunner in the game!

Re: A Little Bit Of Atmosphere! 2
little play about, lighting is all wrong for the background for a start, recoloured the excellent santana Landy (by Scailman of trensim.com, also the creator of the panda), though not very easily as it's normally a greyish colour. but my first picture in this railworks thread http://i725.photobucket...

Re: MSTS fan needs to reinstall, or should he buy Railworks!
can't recommend Railworks enough, i too have most of my time having fun just hopping into a train and driving it, and with the scenario editor function built in, putting a loco in, making it driveable and off you go is much easier than MSTS where you'd have to use specific consists from memory. Also...

Re: New update near!
wonder if the split/modular assets discussed in the route challenge section will be included in the new update, though looking at the list it's quite comprehensive and they seem to have a lot on their plates as it is! very much looking forward to the update, but just got to accept it'll be out when ...

Re: Western Rails
just downloaded and had a quick trial run, and fly around! it seems very nice, and captures the right "feel" for the era/area. The new assets are simply stunning too! i like the coaling point at swindon, though can't find it in asset editor to try and put into my own route :( :P i'll keep playing ar...

British Rail Magazine?
Seem to recall my father mentioning that when my grandad retired from the railway in the early 60s (or late 50s) he was featured in the british rail magazine at the time? this is as far as i know a sort of company magazine, possibly for staff or maybe for passengers? anyway trying to find out more a...

Re: RW West Somerset Railway
The original RS version was brilliant itself, but this looks even better! have the speed limits been set to resemble real life? think most of it is 25mph? i remember the scenarios i was trying to make in RS ended with trains moving a bit too fast! but still luckily with it being single track it coul...
