Re: [BVE 2] Buenos Aires Fict. Subway Line ver. 2 available now

Nice little route - thank you for all your work. :)

One suggestion: that train object seems much to brightly lit in the tunnel. How about separate train objects for stations and tunnels, and darkening the latter's textures except for the windows and headlights?

Re: Massive problem with my BVE

Huh. Looks like the objects are gone or at least not in the expected location. This is usually a sign that the installation of a route was not carried out properly. I'm not sure why you would get these errors if the route was working before unless you deleted or moved some files or something nasty h...

Re: Massive problem with my BVE

Are all your routes affected? You could try a fresh download of the program and its dependencies first, or perhaps you could do a system restore.

I'm curious about those error messages. Could you post them here (at least a selection)? They might provide a clue.

Re: Birmingham X-City South OpenBVE

The guard's buzzer is produced by the train, so I'm not sure how the route matters unless there are so many ambient sounds that your system cannot play all of them simultaneously. Which train were you using? Do you hear the buzzer when you use that same train on a different route? The PA sounds, on ...

Thanks for the comments.

Never used the Sandymill? I'm sure there are laws against that.

[OpenBVE] Update for Sandymill Routes Forthcoming

I've been updating a set of BVE 2 routes, Sandymill to Invermay Electric (main developer Robert Glass, track electrified by Anthony Bowden) and Sandymill to Ashfield (route files created by Craig Allan using SM-IM objects). The routes are set in Scotland, 1986-1993. Note: this new version will not w...

Re: Help! Edinburgh to Aberdeen

Sorry, but I can't reproduce this problem. I loaded the Class 158 run (158.csv) just now, and the displayed timetable said Class 158, Stop at 2 car mark. To get the message you described, I had to load the actual HST run (43.csv) - and as far as I can tell, I've never edited 158.csv.

Re: Lesser known routes for BVE?

The most comprehensive route tables I am aware of are available at
http://wiki.bve-routes.com/index.php/Main_Page
http://www.bve.cz/en/home.html.
For more recent stuff, browse the announcements sections on various forums (including TSC - the forums can still be viewed).

Re: 1 fps

I'm not sure which route you are talking about. In any case, if frame rates are that low and your computer does not belong in a museum for industrial archaeology, you may be using the wrong driver for your graphics card. From the openBVE website: openBVE uses OpenGL for 3D graphics, which is impleme...

Re: Help! Edinburgh to Aberdeen

These are coding errors in the route that BVE 4 does not report, and so the developer presumably was not aware of them. In openBVE, you are free to choose 'ignore' when you are presented with the list of errors. As far as I am aware, there are no obvious problems when driving your train except for a...

Re: Wheel slip on .rw routes

Good question. I just had another look at several .RW routes, and I note that many of them do not specify adhesion at all. When they do, the numbers are all over the place; some people specify 40 for a wet rail and the wheelslip is not too bad when using the default train. The 700 you quoted for Des...

Yes, over at TrainSimCentral. The main site with all its downloads is still available (for that matter, even the forum posts can still be read).

Re: Wheel slip on .rw routes

In an .RW route file, you change the adhesion command with @adhesion( value ), where a value of, say, 150 indicates very good adhesion, 100 is average adhesion, and 50 represents a wet and slippery rail. For comparison, if you use the .adhesion command in an .CSV route file, a dry rail should have a...
