The Networkers were built by Alstom, and are a pile of . just like the Juniper. That's absolute .. There were two breeds of Networkers, because they didn't want to create a supplier monopoly - Half were built by BREL, and Half by MetroCammell. They have problems because the designs were slightly di...

325s are not Networkers. The 325 is a strange cross-breed of the 319 (Thameslink) unit with the nose of a Networker, due to the better crashworthiness of the latter, and the bigger interior of the former (insert Face/Off reference). I merely suggested that if the RM was to sell the 325s, they could ...

i have a friend of the family who works for GTRM and he say's you should be able to run at 150mph between Dolhin and reading by 2007 Doubt it, that portion of line already operates at near full capacity. If you increased the line speed you'd have even less capacity! You would of-course need complet...

Mallard did 126miles an hour with coachs and bogies built before the Mk1's and B4 bogies were invented so i cant see why a Mk1 one is limited like said its probably maintainance. Different rules. Mallard did not do 126mph on a daily basis with those coaches. The run was initially declared as 'Braki...

i have a friend of the family who works for GTRM and he say's you should be able to run at 150mph between Dolhin and reading by 2007 Bovinious Refuse. A) Unless FGW is ordering Bombardier JetTrains you won't get 150 out of the stock, maximum ever achieved with HSTs is 147, on 3 Mk4s. I doubt HS-2 w...

What i meant when i said hot, was axle bearings over heating etc. You have to lubricate the bearings specialls for 125mph running. I expect on a long straight, a towed mk1 would do 125 mph, but not happily. someone said its done with daily examination. We dont have the time, staff, or facilities to...

Sorry to correct you Steve, but B4-bogied NPCCS are rated to do 110, the example being the Motorail GUVs, which had to be 110 to keep the paths! The RM Super-BGs and Super-GUVs are cleared to do 110, as are the ones on the Securicor flow. They have more maintenance and better bogies, but are cleared...

Nope, its platform 19 3/4  If the platform is cleared for a Wessie, it should be clear for an HST, provided they remember to shut down the 'London' cl43. The longest thing on an HST is the Mk3, which, surprisingly enough, is what 442s are made from! However, if true, the team that just spent th...

Not for Royal Mail though - the old BGs and GUVs are not good for anything more than 110, and that's pushing it. 325s can only do 100mph. Why EWS wants 125mph for the 67s is for their own express parcels services. Royal Mail is not the only company to run parcels services, Securicor runs an Aberdeen...
