Re: Charnwood Forest Railway - NW Leicestershire, UK

Tanks for the quick answer :D
I do use 3D Studio Max. I know it's expensive but I'm a lucky one, I can use a license from work.
I didn't know that RW accepted more than one UV map per object.
Later I'll give it a try.

Re: Charnwood Forest Railway - NW Leicestershire, UK

Hi, Here is the model signal box in Rail Simulator. I've used individual tiled textures for each material that you can see. I've used the TrainLightMapWithDiffuse fx material to add the shadows. [album 17148 x17.jpg thumblink] Hi Pauls I'm making too some models but I'm missing a bit about using Tr...

Re: RIGHT THATS IT!!!!

What "T" crash. Never heard or seen this in the 3 years, with RS & RW, I've been plotting DEM?? It happens when I use SRTM1 DEMs and I'm on a tile sitting over 2 dem files (eg. N45E009.hgt and N46E009.hgt) With SRTM3 data the crash don't show up. So time ago I adopted the workaround to use SRTM1 an...

Re: RIGHT THATS IT!!!!

The T Key crash is around since the first release of RS. Many users experienced it and it's pretty easy to reproduce. I think that with the source code and a decent debugger, shouldn't be a big deal to catch it. I'm a SW engineer with 20+ year experience in almost every programmming language, so I g...

Re: RIGHT THATS IT!!!!

I'd love to see some of the red lights turning to green someday .... http://www.railsimdownloads.com/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=Section+0+Status+Updates This page was update on Tuesday 01 of September. Could be very interesting to have a date for each defect transition. Some of them are getting too ol...

Re: 1_1000_Gravel in Track Caps

Alex, where this statement come from ?
I searched in the wiki and even looked in the old 4.05 HOW TO…Create Track pdf doc but I didn't find it.
Also a google search for the word 1_1000_gravel didn't returned any result.
I'm really curious about it :o

Re: Help required with 3ds 2008 -- mesh errors

As far I know, the best way to make punched holes object in 3DS is the spline extrusion method. As soon I've got this skill, it was for me to create e.g loco sides with quite complex form openings (door & windows). Give a look here http://www.ecosystem3d.com/Corsi/ModuloA/Lezione029/Lezione029.htm I...

Re: Creating and import markers

Hi A number of things - 1) RailSimulator is spelt incorrectly 2) RouteMarkers\flag.xml - Note backward slash not forward slash. 3) Kuju should have a capital K 4) The csv file should be entered RouteMarkers\markers.csv - again note use of the Capital letters and backward slashes 5) if named Marker,...

Re: Does exist an official work in progress list for RW ?

Tanks Andy for the pointer

Since I'm not working on signalling right now , I for sure would have never seen this post.
So, the answer is that Derek, Tue Aug 25, 2009, wrote that they are setting up something to let user eyes to see work progresses.
So let's have a bit of patience and wait :D

Does exist an official work in progress list for RW ?

My question could be a bit silly but in all my searches over various forums and the official site I never ran into such a list. I'm aware of the page Section 0 Status Updates but it have a nunber of "lights" still red since ling time. What I like to see is a more close view on what fixes and feature...

How to put a scenic item at a precise height ?

hello I need to put a certain number of water tiles to form a lake. The big pain is to put all of them at the same height. Using the blue arrow is too coarse and even the keyboard buttons use doesnt help much since is not possible to view the new height in sync with the keyboard. In fact the propert...
