Mike,
I notice RR doesn't allow compiling of .w files any more, and the reason for this is understood. However I found this a most useful function. Any chance of doing a simple prog for just that purpose?

Do this more than play activities (when not hacking sounds around). I have created a 'loco' out of the the MSTS workman (the 'passenger view' is positioned at his eyes) and place lengths of track underneath stations so that I effectively become a person able to walk along a platform (takes a bit of ...

As the trottle setup (ie notched or continuous) effects the way the sounds in the sim are played it would be usefull to know what are the actual correct setups for the various classes of diesel locos. Could those in the know please post the number of notches theat exist for the following: Class 02 C...

Yeap, that is correct. No need to explicitly path for files in the global sound foler. Guess I have just got a little too precise, but no harm done. Of course taken to the extreme this could mean we just place every file (provided it has a unique name) in the main sound folder and then only have to ...

Pete Watermans Class 46 46035 (D172) 'Ixion' is due on the return leg of this Saturdays Yeovil - Holyhead railtour. If anyone can get out and see it and has a camcorder then get videoing! I have done some recording using my 8mm camcorder, played the sounds into my PC, and found them to be perfectly ...

Thanks for that feed back Lawner. As someone myself who knows nowt about real stean loco characteristics I have no means of evaluating the effects. Although those changes may make life easier for getting better sounds there can't really be any compromise with loco performance unless it is for the be...

I use both methods (ie using a / or using \ ) sucessfully. I tend to use // inside .eng and .wag files, and use inside .sms file. Not for any really reason, just a habit. I tend to find that aliasing errors are due to specifying a path that does not point to the file rather than incorrect syntax. Th...
