As I recall some members think it has been there all along... Those members are wrong! :wink: I've a complete Railworks 2 install on my second system that is in offline mode (no net connection via means of cable being unplugged) and can 100% say that the OpenAL32.dll isn't present under Railworks2....

It also seems sound break on on kettles seems to be partially effected by the FPS drop which still happens in TS2012 every 60-70secs, even with the FPS limiter on. For sure. Chuffing (and also track joint clanks) are individual sounds that need to be individually triggered. As train speed increases...

Since upgrading to TS2012 I too am noticing greatly increased loading times for scenarios, even with a newly created blank route with only a little track and a single train!

I too still need to use Alchemy with TS2010 to get reverb and occlusion, just like in RW2.

You probably know as much as anyone else does judging by your posts. I looked into converting some of my looping whistles for MSTS into RS when it was first realised. Like you I couldn't achieve it without clicks. The default ones that work use sample loops and were created by the original sound guy...

In my experience the "force sound mixing" makes no noticible difference, either audibly or to fps (I have a pci-e x-fi xtreme audio card). I'm also pretty certain that the purpose of this option has never been revealed by kuju or it's sucessors. I thus leave it unticked, which seems to be the defaul...

Are all the emitters constantly on (you mention whistle at least) ? If so then it might be that your engine script isn't loading (most likely due to a syntax error) and they aren't being initialised to off, or then scripted to work according to key presses.

This issue (steam loco chuffing becoming choppy, and chuffs being dropped, at high speed) is inherently down to the method RW uses to play the chuff sounds. I have noticed this too. Sample loops are what RW uses to create sections within a sound file that loop, however it's a feature that doesn't seem to be used too often and seems impossible to impliment without clicks occurring (Oovee has stated the same in the past too). I have taken this error to me...

Hi all I've had this for quite a while now. The trick is to add the whistle dav. to the carriage door close dav. in my case the China sounds and the whistle comes from /Nico's Mk3 sounds.
