The main reason is because the Online retailers jumped the gun due to the mail strike in England.

Well Kuju/RSD have said they will support it so time will tell and hopefully in a positive way.

Re: Dual Core CPU

Its also possible that like FSX the second core is only used to preload scenery or lower priority stuff. So you might not see it being used all the time.

Re: Not happy at all! Help please

Make sure if you are using Vista that you get the latest graphics drivers from Nvidia or Ati etc and not from Microsoft update. Also make sure you have the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard.

First thing you should try is updating your graphics card drivers ( if you haven't already that is ).

Re: Not Smooth at all ;(

I am wondering..... :-? Under Vista I get a frame rate of 40+ which reduces to 14 in about 3 seconds. This is a pulse like cycle. So I wonder if the scene redraw which is being pulled off the HD is the problem. Put another way, why am I getting a low stable frame rate under a brand new XP installat...

Re:

On a more serious note, the driver issues you had only referred to Vista, did they? So on XP, I can fully rely on drivers for the 8800 cards? I would say you couldn't fully rely on Nvidia drivers for the 8800 series. Nvidia have taken a long time to sort them out and lots of people still seem to ha...

Re: Not Smooth at all ;(

Superfetch wouldn't affect it, as all it does is preload in memory frequently used apps based on the users usage pattern. When the memory is needed for anything else it dumps it until the app using it releases it. It is far more likely a Nvidia driver issue as Matt said.

On Vista you will need to have the latest drivers as they are still immature. A lot of gamers use the Nvidia beta drivers which are usually released more often than the whql ones.

Re: Say here When you get told you game is on it way.

My status changed to "Items dispatching soon:", although the delivery estimate did not change. Maybe this is just because we're approaching the official delivery date and this does not indicate that they have received the copies. We'll see. Klaus That means it is being prepared for dispatch, though...

Re: Gameplay.com orders

I have a feeling it is because my card is drawn on a UK bank but my address is in OZ. Looks like I will have to send Matt a cheque. Nothing is easy. Thats probably the cause, A lot of places have a problem when the billing address is different from the delivery or as you stated ( they say its to av...
