Around and around...it's all just numbers
Hi Martin, you can adjust the (drivers) wheel rotation speed by changing the wheel diameter data in the ENG until the 'slippage' effect disappears as the distance forward per rotation of the wheel matches (or close..) the distance around the circumference of the wheel. You should always view the whe...

...train? What train was that...have another Bole, my dear..
Rangatira now has a decent sheer and finer lines, lowered funnels. Still a high polycount... <IMG width="804" height="409" SRC="http://album.atomic-systems.com/showPic ... sited3.jpg">

A venerable Old Lady in drydock...
TEV Rangatira is undergoing improvements. Some displacement of details show in this pic, while work is underway. Original funnel height lowered, new vents, etc. <IMG width="636" height="280" SRC="http://album.atomic-systems.com/showPic.php/16778/TEV-Rangatira-revisited2.jpg"> This version has been r...

Scale tales
Scale effects wheel diameter so use the scaled up figures, ie wheel diameter, or radius x scale factor = number used* in ENG. Physical coordinates for lights, smoke and steam exhausts are taken off the scaled up model. Other figures used in the physics (ENG) should be those applying to the real worl...

Two toots in a bind.
Also, when you have two up locos at the front of a consist, how much power is available in MSTS - i.e. does the 2nd loco contribute? This is an interesting subject in its own right. I guess you'd have to set up a very controlled experiment to find the answer. There is a problem I've noticed with th...

The poly's gone
The TS graphics engine has its limits. When that limit is reached some poly faces are not rended at certain POV, the results are bizzare, semi-naked locos! The effect is most noticible on hi poly locos passing through hi-density scenery areas. The event also occurs on very high end systems. The same...

Hiss and a roar...
Damn, so we (NZ) didn't win the Rugby World Cup, but it was fairly won by the UK lad with the fantastic boot, well done!
Meanwhile, down the engine shed there was just as much hiss and wind...

...umm, and don't take this personally, did you release the 'engine brake' which shows up in the HUD (Hit F5 key twice) as Loco Brake, with a percentage figure for the brake application rate. It is easy to overlook this brake because for some reason the little label does not always pop in the cabvie...
