I wouldn't have worked out where it is from the first picture, but the allotments give away the fact that the tower is just above Muller Road in Bristol, but what the tower is I do not know.

Kind of given it away in that; I dread to think how fast you drive if you need to start braking that early!

I'd guess it would be somewhere along the A46 north of Evesham.

On a different note, something I've been mulling over a bit - why was it that bus companies, without any real experience of railways, were so keen to take control of the railways at privatisation yet left airlines alone (considering how much funding was involved in the likes of Laidlaw)? By extensi...

Indeed, fgw has got no better. Having used their "service" for the first time since a nightmare journey last October, both outward and return journeys fell victim to train faults and I ended up several hours late by the time I got back home (that not being helped by First City Line buses deciding to...

I was going to add my criticisms over fGW - given that nowadays it is very rare to see one of their trains in either Herefordshire or Worcestershire. More often than not, the London trains start/terminate at Oxford, whilst the Bristol trains just don't run at all. That said, this morning appears to ...

Quite a lot of Birmingham-Malvern trains reverse at Worcester Shrub Hill, and the Bristol/Swindon-Cheltenham trains reverse at Gloucester.

Is this close to where you live? If so, I think I know where it is.

Since we are going down the west Oxfordshire route, I can only see similarities with Evesham/Eynsham.

A landmark of a more temporary nature.... [album 45092 lgtl271007.JPG] I don't think it has a name so where is it and what does it commemorate? May just be coincidence, but there is a very similar feature in the square by Regent Street, in Weston Super Mare, which I just happened to notice this aft...

Its not looking like this will get guessed again, so let's say that it's the War Memorial in Senghenydd.

If it is correct, I've still got no picture, so anyone should feel free to take control on my behalf.

When first looking, I would have said either Cinderford or Coleford, but I doubt either have a bilingual post office sign.

So, lets guess Hay on Wye.

Without the clue, and a copy of Housman's poems, I wouldn't have recognised that it is in fact Bredon Hill, Worcestershire, with the tower being, I assume, Parsons Folly (thanks wikipedia!)
