One important point: it is not just the sound that is different: the refurbished class 43s have an entire new engine . That gives them improved performance, too (principally, better acceleration), so the physics would need to be altered if modelling MTU traction. The MTUs pull away a lot slower - e...

I don't think all 158s have it. I seem to remember it being added to certain units (Central?) in the last few years. I may be wrong, but its just a hunch....

Today at Didcot, an HST went through platform 2 at full chat, whilst a "please don't leave baggage unattended etc" went out. About 30 seconds after the train had passed, "Ding Dong, the train now passing platform 2 is not stopping. Please stand back...etc". I presume the earier message caused the se...

Ian, will the texturing and 3D model allow an alpha texture to do this?

Well from the screens they have shown us, they should be doing both if they want to be accurate. The FGW MTUs are starting to scream a bit now :D

Very nice! Its just a pity there aren't any routes covering Westbury or Acton (Acton being where the jumbo is split). Or the quarries! Lets hope KRS is easier to route build with  I have a soft spot for the Mendip Trains, living about 30 mins from Westbury, and having been to Merehead and What...

Yes there is sure to be some criticism of these screens, but remeber what MSTS gave with its first 6 routes...and compare it to Great Eastern. The Best of Rail Simualtor is still a long long way away. And to be fair, I'd be happy with whats shown in these screenies. Ok its not perfect, but what is? ...

Looking very very very good! :D Can't wait for its release. Good to see two liverys of FGW HST in the shot - so does that mean they have only done the TGS, TRFB and TS in the protoype neon, along with the powercars? It'll be nice to see a Barbie rake, with those 3 slotted in! Really looking forward ...

Hmm, if anyone does know where that came from, I'd like to give it a try. However, the last 218 soundset I downloaded sounded nothing like an MTU HST. The one I am using at the moment is from an ÖBB 2016. I'm not sure what engine is in the 218, but the 2016 (and identical DB version) has the 4000 se...

You're doing a great job of creating my fav train. Would you entertain the thought of creating a couple of locos and numbering them differently so that I could build up a collection of FGW HST's Yep! I have done 021 and I 125. All the numbers are correct for the first set formed in the new livery, ...

At the time I took those shots, I was still working heavily on the power car, and basically hadn't yet "cut the holes" for the grills. I have recently updated the roof grill to a Voith type cooler group (Silver/black mesh) and am working on the interior vestibules at the moment. Shouldn't be too lon...

About 2 weeks ago, FGW said there keeping the 180s. Yay! :D I beleive its due to lots of ex TPX 158s going off lease

Also, as well as being different at both ends, the way the ones with a "semi" window end the bright yellow panel actually slightly overlaps the bottom of the window http://mattsdmus.fotopic.net/p42492704.html notice the lower edge of the window is squared off, not rounded like the top, due to the cu...

It would appear that it has the "half and half" type door at one end, and a plain yellow one the other http://community.fotopic.net/search/simple.php?txt=159102&tab=P Just alittle aside, would it be possible to modify the eng file to give a protoypical lighting setup? ie markers and secondman's for ...
