Re: Incident involving Penzance bound HST
I heard it had fallen across the track, backed up by the picture on the Railway Centre's front page.

Just thought I'd post a couple of pics of this unrestored, but very complete Bullied Pacific. Seems such a shame it just sitting there in an industrial estate. http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/156233/P1030441a.jpg http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/156233/P1030442a.jpg http://www.atomic-...

Lymington slammer 09/03/10
Popped across to Yarmouth a few weeks ago, and used the soon to be withdrawn slammer from Brockenhurst to do it: My steed from Bournemouth, heads off towards London Waterloo from Brockenhurst http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/156233/101.jpg http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/156233/102.jp...

Re: ....commuters experience first day of high-speed rail travel
I've been on the Javelin's twice; once from Ashford, once from Ebsfleet, and was impressed, with the exception of the deafening roar as you pass through the tunnels at the London end. I can see the point of the service as it was during the preview period, lets face it, Asford to London in 35 minutes...

Re: HS1 Domestic Services (395s)
Went from Ashford up to St Pancras and return on Friday and was very impressed. Quite quiet trains, although there was more wind noise than on the Eurostar, and it is very noisy going through the long tunnels past Stratford as far as St Pancras. Comfortable seats with good legroom, and its entertain...

Re: Templecombe and the S&D
Further down the SR line at Seaton Junction, when the Seaton branch was first opened, the train ran out of the branch, onto the down mainline stopping line, then reversed into the station, ran round on the down main through line, then did the same in reverse. It lasted for about a year until the LSW...

Re: SWT 159 operations
It should also be noted that as of the next timetable change in December, all SWT services will terminate at Exeter St Davids. Paignton, Plymouth & Penzance will only be served by FGW and Cross Country. This is because the new passing loop at Axminster should be complete, allowing for hourly London ...

Re: About to throw the baby out with the bathwater
Sounds like the graphics card overheating/ not seated in its slot properly.
The fans on graphics cards can seize up, not a problem when surfing the net etc, but put a load on it and it could cut out.

SR 34067 Tangmere at Yeovil Junction
Did some shunting around, in pretty much the same way that steam charters do when being serviced & turned at Yeovil junction. Waiting on platform 3 with Yeovil resident 50050 "Fearless" in the background. http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/156233/yjunc1.jpg http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.p...

Re: Mystery of the London Midland 350 at Clapham Junction
The 350's are occasionally hired by Southern for the Thameslink service, which I assume would pass through Clapham Junction, due the the late delivery of their own 377/2's. They are used because of their dual voltage ability.

Re: Dorset Coast V6
You sure a 33/0 can work with a 4TC though? :p And that would explain why in Hellfire I keep seeing the same 33 work to reading and the same one back, wondered if there was a run around loop actually! but push-pull makes sense! If you like, I can chuck that with my 1981 pack for the Dorset Coast DV...
