Re: complaints over grammar?

Hi Ash

Oh my - now a Moderator has had his say. It was a simple request - just use the English language correctly. I don't think I was discourteous in any respect - I just let the written word speak for itself.

Re: complaints over grammar?

Hi James You should have named me in your post, as you didn't, I'll do it myself. Sorry I offended you, but I had no other way of letting you know how I felt - and I did say it to you personally, via an email, rather than broadcasting my feelings on these Forums. However, as you have now brought it ...

Re: SDJR activity Morning school run

Hi Jim Yes, I had the same thought about missing all those stations. But if you think about it, Clive had imposed that 45mph speed limit throughout (and you got a bollockin' if you nudged 44!) - to then stop at 31 stations would have put you so far behind time, perhaps everything else wouldn't have ...

Re: SDJR activity Morning school run

Hi Jimmy The red you describe is there for you to gently nudge! If you don't get the 2P as close as possible to this red, the reverse point behind your train will not clear. As soon as the reverse point clears, reverse the mixed freight into the MIDDLE siding between the main running lines at Evercr...

Re: SDJR activity Morning school run

Hi Steve At milepost 23 I had 75% c/o - 97% regulator - Sanders on - was managing 17.7 mph - my Small Ejector (J key) was closed - Dampers 100% - steam heat (Shift - U) off - Boiler pressure steady at 178psi - and then the line levelled out and I adjusted everything down a few notches to pick up spe...

Re: Problems with the Bristol to Birmingham Route Activites

Hi Chaps Glad we're all back in reasonable mood. I apologise for getting upset! To Geoff I say that I do test every activity strenously. That means running with all combinations of Bin and tsection to see which combo fares best. Usually on BTB, I use 1.8 and 41 together, but as you rightly say other...

Re: Problems with the Bristol to Birmingham Route Activites

Hey Ged

You know I am the most reasonable man in the world! But even I don't have to put up with being slagged off on here.

Cheers

Re: Problems with the Bristol to Birmingham Route Activites

Hi Clive Many thanks - I agree, it does work. I enjoyed it, my timings for the whole run are shown a few threads back. I get stressed when folk stick their oar in without due consideration of all the facts that have been discussed up to the point when they intervene. Ah well, such is life. Great job...

Re: Problems with the Bristol to Birmingham Route Activites

Let’s review the evidence: Who lives in a house like this? Cody said in his briefing to the Activity on UKTS, “Tested and approved by me (CWill).” Now why do you think he felt the need to put that in writing on his briefing? Could it be that his usual tester(s) had had so much trouble trying to get ...

Re: Problems with the Bristol to Birmingham Route Activites

Hi Chaps Seeing as I started this off by complaining about one event in Cody's Pines Express Down , I suppose I'd better chip in at this stage. The event that completely threw me and would NEVER happen prototypically, was when I ran into Gloucester platform under full greens and was then confronted ...

Re: Problems with the Bristol to Birmingham Route Activites

Hi Ged It happened to me first time through - I saw the damn thing and by the time I reacted to it I had hit it!!!! Luckily I had saved just before Coaley Junction, so I didn't have far to backtrack. Yes, I like to record runs through a long activity and the timings always come in handy. Regards Eric

Re: Problems with the Bristol to Birmingham Route Activites

Hi Chaps I completed the run with Cody’s Pines Express Down . Sticking strictly to all line speeds and further maintenance restrictions, the timings were as follows:- Birmingham New Street – Dep. 12.00.06 Barnt Green – 12.11.14 Blackwell – 12.13.32 Bromsgrove South – 12.20.40 Stoke Works Junction – ...
