Try to split up your 50000Polys to more than one object. It might be that there is a poly count limit per object.
Its known that there is a limitation to 255 objects for the programm which converts igs into GeoPcDx. This programm is called by the AssetEdi.

Re: Bumpmapping from Blender ?
How I see the things regarding steampsi's license model: Short form: With the license modell steampsi used, it is allowed to create and distribute 3D modells which are free of any charge for their usage . If the created modells are not free of charge for their usage : Contact steampsi and start disc...

Re: Triangles and Images
Hey Mike, you can't tell Blender how much Tris to use. But you can easily see how many Tris & Verts & Objects you created in total. Just have a look on the status bar on top of the Blender window. "www.blender.org 248.1 Ve:8 | Fa:6 | Ob: 3-1 | La: 1" or in Edit Mode "www.blender.org 248.1 Ve:8-8 | E...

Re: RS and Blender
Thank you for replying. I would like to make a wagon body by first taking a rectangular block and hollowing out the middle. This would leave me with a base and four sides to then apply texture to ( inside and out ). insert a new plane and scale it to the desired size. In Edit mode: Press CTRL-Tab,1...

Re: RS and Blender
I need to know how to hollow out a solid and select faces to texture. whats your point here? - deform a mesh e.g. make a solid block hollow or - unwrap UV coordinates for texturing / assigning a texture image file Are you saying eg; the wagon is built as a complete vehicle and exported into Rail Si...

Re: RS and Blender
Hi Mike,
did you try building up & exporting hierachies with either Blender empty objects or Blender mesh objects without any verts?
If I remember right, somewhere in the docs of steampsies homepage are some informations regarding hierachy of exported objects.

Re: Bumpmapping from Blender ?
Hi Alex,
I know, steampsi did indeed restrict usage of his exporter.
For my Blender Exporter 2.0 I'am still thinking about to use the same usage restriction...

Re: Bumpmapping from Blender ?
... sorry for that..
I dropped the admin of Rail-Sim.de a PM. Maybe he's fixing the issue next days.
The ia/igs analyzer script zip-package is just 312kB. If you can't wait: Drop me a PM with your mail address...

Re: Blender Exporter
... there is no problem with Blender and Python. From Blender version 2.49 on, Blender needs Python 2.6. Previous Blender versions up to 2.48a are using Python 2.5. The RS ia/igs export scripts are precompiled (*.pyc) against Python 2.5 and are not running under Python 2.6. see this thread regard He...

Re: Bumpmapping from Blender ?
Hi, yes of course, the new exporter will be able to export for all shaders. And yes, there will be an mechnism with an external Ascii text file, which holds information for modifying things in *igs file. You can e.g. replace shader names, or the objects names for the automatic numbering. This is cur...

Re: Bumpmapping from Blender ?
Hi Jeff, making a quick-hack and extending my ia/igs analyzer script takes me just a few hours. No big deal. The hack would simply copy X,Y coordinates of UV Layer 0 to all other UV Layers. Just for info: ia/igs analyzer script is realeased since 2009-02-29 and can be downloaded here (direct downloa...
