I knew a Connex driver who mentioned people stopping in tunnels are going out the drivers cab door. Needs must. Quite often drivers will stop next to a signal no matter what aspect, and use the loo- or out of the door, depending on location. If you are desperate, concentration will dip considerably...

North bound is usualy ok, south usualy has the delays on, but with the slack in the timetable, the time is usualy made up.

You are happy enough to pay £25 for 7-10 miles of track that struggles on machines, but not happy on paying £21 (at Brighton) or £25 otherwise for 80 odd miles of track that plays ok without jerking to much ect, and if you do not like it then fair enough, everyone has the right to their opinion- ...

This reminds me of Southerns adverts, with the 377s on the outside.......then a 171 inside, with a trolly service! Shame you can not have that in the real world!

The slammers on the Lymington Line still have compartments- as do the sleeper trains from London to Penzanze and Scotland.

Forgot to put something in my above post- With the 377/3s, 1st class was not going to be added at first, but then relised it would be a bad mistake, as many commuters do use 1st class. So by placing a few clothes on the back on seats and a sticker on the window, they class it as first class accomoda...

The 460s would be best suited to the Brighton Express- or a new service running from Brighton-Gatwick-E.Croydon-Clapham-Vic. The Brighton Express is regarded at Southerns flagship service- and they use the same stock as all their other services from Brighton. If they still had their 319s running on ...

The yellow door is rather ghastly isn't it! It's all to do with the new Health & Safety rules that the doors must be a different colour to the background colour of the train. Does look a bit daft, but I'm sure I'll grow to like it.

I have had a quick look at the timetables that effect me the most, the Brighton-Cardiff line, and Gatwick to Reading route- the Brighton services do not seem to have changed, but the Gatwick to Reading line has a half hourly service which is good. I asume they will be tight for stock- although the 1...

The hill back to the station will make anyone out of breath. It is an average hill to the clock tower, then a slow incline from there- not bad at all. The best place to park is Brighton Station, i think its no more then £5. In the morning, there is plenty of space. For those coming in from Newhave...
