I think that it is two edged for a software company to release information on a still incomplete product to the public. It surely has some benefits for the company, like preparation of the future market, spreading the word about the new product. Thousands of people already know that Kuju is developi...

Hi Andrew, that's the software that the Kuju people use themselves. Since 3d Max, Softimage and Maja are quite expensive products, probably too much for non-commerical content developers, it might be that Kuju will provide other ways to create objects also. But there hasn't been an official statemen...

Well, we have to wait until Kuju gives us some more details on the way tracks are layed out. As far as I remember, we should get some insight early this year, whatever this means. I am not a mathematican, and I know that in real life clothoids are used for the transition between curves of different ...

Hi Otto, as a non-MSTS user, I tried to understand the problem that DYNATRAX tries to solve. Is MSTS unable to use custom tracks on dynamically specified curves and straights? Auran has demonstrated that it is possible to use arbitrary custom tracks on arbitrary curves by replicating and bending sma...

Who not? 8) However, Kuju seems to be rather unimpressed by our entreaty, so we have to wait until the time is right for them :) Anyway, it is still open whether the given pictures are rendered via some non-realtime rendering program or whether they are actually created by the graphics engine that w...

Oh, sorry, I did not want to impute anything to Kuju. I just cannot hear this word any longer. I would prefer if people would say "in a few days", "in a few weeks", "not in the next few days", "we expect something in March", "end of Quarter I", "we plan something for ..., but it may be also later" i...

No, Auran provided a list with all the country codes (which were identical to ISO 3166 btw.). Either people don't know that it is actually defined somewhere, or they are lazy to look it up in the docs or they just believe they remember correctly. The mistake with UK and GB has been done often enough...

I would estimate that only very few percents of the required disk space is used for sounds, maybe some megabytes or a few dozen megabytes. Nearly all objects will have texture files, and, looking at the screen shots, they seem to be high resolution ones. However, most objects won't have sounds assoc...

Disk space does not matter, memory space does, but unless the audio card can directly deal with compressed formats, compression has no benefit. On the contrary, the resources needed to decompress the audio data will reduce the overall performance. More interesting is what is done with the audio data...

Hmm, while I appreciate any news, I had hoped that it would contain a bit more substance. For now, it reads like a copy of Trainz :D. But as I am also doing software development, I know that often one is able to show something impressive only near the end of the development when all components start...
