Re: Flying scotsman double tenders! :D
This was brought to my attention on Facebook, not sure how I missed it. A case of staring at something so long that you can no longer see it methinks.
It's since been rectified, along with the incomplete lining on the cab side.

Re: Mk3b DVT
And no problems in RW (with painted tryout textures :D ) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5862163/rwstema/v63elsoproba.mkv That's a Texdiff shader by the looks of it, although it's hard to tell with the texture. So there's no specular detail, the parameter I said would cause you trouble with bad mesh. The m...

Re: Mk3b DVT
Your renders are using ambient lighting. Because there is no one light source, the model is basked in light in equal measures, and so bad mesh will not come to light. Putting that mesh into Railworks will present problems the second you put any sort of specular detail onto the surface as the reflect...

But that's bad topology, regardless of what toolset you're constructing it in.

Re: Mk3b DVT
Be aware, that the smoothing problems not only caused by you, if you use 3ds max. It's bugged like hell, at smoothing groups in edit poly mode, but in edit mesh it's good, just make sure you re- autosmooth your model. My workaround is: modelling in edit poly mode, render and export in edit mesh mod...

Re: Flying scotsman double tenders! :D
will this pack include variations of the tender so you can alternate between 1 tender or 2? there's not much difference, If any I believe? can anyone expand on that? There will be single and double tender consists included in the pack. When carrying double tenders the Flying Scotsman would carry th...

Re: WIP Thread 3 - Anything new for RailWorks
On the subject of weathering, not sure if you know about this but I'm sure it'll benefit someone. Photoshop has a feature that allows you to pull details from an image like that with one click, if you go to Select>Color Range and vary the exposure you can pull the grime right off the walls. Makes it...

Re: What tools do the game developers really use?
Things must be tough where you are mate ... is there no Wacom to go with your photoshop ? . Every highly paid professional I know has one . Seeing as a good deal of it boils down to photo manipulation, a stylus is somewhat surplus to demand. I do keep an old Graphire4 kicking about at home, but I'v...
