Re: What do you drive?
Been a while since i've posted anything on here, so this'll be a nice simple one to keep the hand in. I drive a 1999 Renault Megane Scenic 1.9 dTi RXE (with just over 163000 on the clock!) Had it 18 months and it's been a pretty decent first car, excluding the problem of it being a MK1/MK2 hy...

Re: Lymington Branch . . again !
Just. There's only weeks until they finish. If you want to get them, then you best be quick!
On a note, 1497 "Freshwater" failed on the branch today, with buses running the rest of the days services.

Re: What trains are runing on the real Dorset Coast?
Why did Southwest trains decide to get rid of the 442's and give them to the Gatwick express?? They seem like the perfict EMU, minus a buffet. It was due to Stagecoach re-bidding for the SWT franchise I believe. They promised to pay back more than they really could and as the Wessie's where up for ...

Re: Didcot coal trains
66's are allowed a max of 19 HTA's as they begin to struggle. Class 60's with thier higher tractive effort can haul 21 when using the buffer fitted set.

Re: What trains are runing on the real Dorset Coast?
450's run Waterloo to Poole services, ECS to/from Northam as well as outer suburban services and some Portsmouth Harbour services in either 8 or 12 coach formations. 444's run majority of the express services such as Waterloo - Weymouth, Waterloo - Portsmouth Harbour and ECS to/from Northam. Until M...

Re: Lymington Branch . . again !
Yes, they are still at work on the branch. They do occaisionaly get replaced with a Desiro on some Sundays or if a problem arises.
The last day of service is May 22nd, where there will be special goings on at Brockenhurst station (according to the Daily Echo)

Re: asistace needed for Dc v5 traffic for railtour act
Traffic would be: SWT 444's and 450's through out as the main passenger units SWT 458's (Junipers) Between Waterloo and Clapham Junction (Some do go down as far as Bournemouth for work) SWT 455's Between Waterloo and Woking (Again, some come to Bournemouth for work) SWT 159's Between Waterloo and Wo...

Re: Apprentices and wind ups
Being an apprentice maintenance fitter, i've had all these tried on me with no success! Andy. Don`t feel disappointed, your time will come. Many the time, a cheeky apprentice, unknowingly  carried a pair of bricks in the tool bag back to the shop. Hahaha! Re: Apprentices and wind ups
Being an apprentice maintenance fitter, i've had all these tried on me with no success! Stories like these were told by the instructors of the training center I went to, so I was prepared for them. Well, apart from being asked to get a glass hammer! I made it half down the workshop thinking; "what t...

Re: XC Voyager route
My appologies, I was only aware of the voyages that leave from the north east tend to terminate at reading if they are heading in that direction otherwise go via bristol TM if headed for the coast. Where I live we dont get any direct trains to southampton. I wasn't aware of the Reading - Bournemout...

Re: XC Voyager route
I do believe the limit of the voyagers in the current timetable have 99% of the services terminate at reading with the odd one carrying on to guildford. They do avoid didcot. What about all the ones that go to Bournemouth? There's one an hour each way. Whenver i've been on a Voyager, it's between S...

Re: Most crowded train you've travelled on.
Pair of 444's between Brockenhurst and Bournemouth. It was the weekend of the Bournemouth Airshow and everyone had the same idea of getting the train! It was a semi-fast so it stopped at a few stations before Bournemouth, which made the crush worse because everyone had to shuffle about to let people...
