Ah - thanks eddief. Your post signifies great news for all of us. Scottish Central is already a good route, particularly around Edinburgh of course, though lacking scenery elsewhere. THis sounds like the route will now be completed - just what we need. Incidentally, thanks to MSTS bin we can now get...

Mick I can understand why you were confused! I too wondered whether it was about modifying activities (and I tend to do what you do on occasions, ie physically move the files). Easy train store is good, but a bit of a hassle looking through all the stock if you have a lot, particularly with little c...

Maybe I've misunderstood the question, but the 'recommended' way is simply to select the route (Bala Hub) then highlight 'Exlore Mode Consists' after which you click 'Edit Selected Route'. This then brings up a list of all consists (with options for those in use, store etc) where you can pick your W...

The 'Clactons' were renowned for doing over 100mph on a regular basis - even 112mph was admitted to me unofficially when a couple of the original 2-car sets were in the formation (later rebuilt into 4 cars) Almost the first thing I did when I got this route was to edit the engine file accordingly! S...

In a similar vein, I am trying to halt a branch line train at Marks Tey (coming from Sudbury) on the GE route, to let an AI express pass before the branch train joins the main line on to Colchester (as in reality). I have tried double reversing points, as per the tutorials, which works in that it al...

I agree the 442s are extremely good looking - even with the corridor connections. My point was that BR should not have built in a feature which was being replaced on other units purely for style. They would have looked just as good with flat windscreens. I love trains (and model them) but I am also ...

Can confirm - 312's never had curved glass. 310s were fitted with flat windscreens from late 1970s during overhaul. Same with the 309s and 303s. Apparently the reason was the expense of curved glass and the problems of getting a watertight seal. Which prompts the question why British Rail ever fitte...

Hi Jamie Yes, working brilliantly! Excellent models as I've said before. Just one thing - the sounds are very quiet, at least on my machine. Is there something I've done wrong, or any way of turning the volume up a bit WITHOUT making all the other trains deafening (ie not through Global settings)? A...

Hi Ashley, thanks again. Compatibility mode is one thing I hadn't thought of - though it didn't make any difference! It's clearly a problem with my sustem so I think I'm going to have to track it down by a process of elimination - removing all extra hardware/software etc. It will be worth it to get ...

Hi Ashley - thanks for advice I've tried all of that - even disabled other devices (capture card etc), still no difference. Odd thing is that I tried reverting to default screen size (800 x 640) and chose the lowest settings for sim - still didn't get more than 3-4 frames when trying _ECS & Southmin...

Can I just ask for a bit more users' experience on these frame rates? Comments seem to suggest different experiences. At times I am getting only 5-7 fps, even just sitting in the cab at Liverpool St or Southend without moving! Naturally a bit better in less built-up areas but not as good as other ro...

thanks Ashley, sorry for delay in replying but I had to catch a real train to France! Actually I just powered up and it's running smoothly, so there must have been something lying around the system that caused the stuttering (even with MSTSBin 1.6 installed) - shows the value of restarting. Thanks f...

Great Eastern - well worth the wait!
First impressions are that the surplus 'z' on the code is the only problem! Though I've yet to explore every branch line. Fantastic route, well worth the wait. Great stock as well, only the unloved 312s seem to be missing, but the 309s more than a compensation. Maybe we'll get them reskinned into th...
