Just to chip in my experiences: I've recently 'upgraded' to a new PC, funnily enough both old and new have similar CPU processor specs to Stephen's machines (better graphics cards though). I'm getting much better frame rates on MSTS with the more difficult routes, though I don't kid myself it's anyt...

Anyone had a good look at this route yet? Just sitting at Mumbai waiting for an activity to start, I was impressed by the billowing clouds, same at Delhi and other places. I've never been to India - are these really clouds or the smog we are told overhangs the city? Looks like the latter!

I've just installed and driven the Gotthard route, everything in German though. I assume 'gleis' is platform, but what is a 'nebengleis'? It comes up at virtually every station, so it can't be a place name. I'm just intrigued!

Thank you, Terry, you were spot on! I checked the world files and that was where the problem lay. Now sorted, and I can ride the former MSJAR route with which I am most familiar in Manchester!

Hi Guys. Sorry if this has been answered (I have looked but 47 pages is a lot to take in!) I downloaded the route and it's brill of course, but after about Stretford Bar on the way to ALtrincham I lose the track and scenery; same at Eccles. Is this right, or has something gone wrong with my download...

I had this exact problem when viewing the ends of a train - in my case I reinstalled the sound card software (Creative) and that fixed it (I got on to it by running the Creative diagnostics prog)

You could also try reinstalling your soundcard drivers

thanks guys, that's reassuring, though I do have quite a lot of favourite old progs. Even so, I'll probably stick with XP as long as I can!

Looking at all the threads, it does seem to be a bit hit and miss running MSTS with Vista, but I just wonder, has anyone found problems with other software or hardware? I remember the switch to XP, having to ditch favourite programs, scanner, printer etc, and don't want the same hassle if I move to ...
