Merseyrail routes

Hi, does anyone know what happened to the Merseyrail route that was being constructed for BVE? I know the website went down, and people were saying the project had reached a dead end, but does anyone else have any offical answers because I'd personally really like to see this happen.

Ah right, its just that as it stands the 5X47 (return) usually runs on a Friday, but can vary from time to time.

I've always ended up having to use the emergency brake to slow down because i'd be doing 70-80mph before the platforms of the next station start coming into view.
