Re: Train Sim World: Studio Update Delayed

Quite so, but the default Unreal Engine doesn't let you create scenarios - the way that they are created are very different from TS1. However the functionality displayed this evening was way above what is achievable in TS1 - AI units coupling up to player trains, the player driving them somewhere el...

Low resolution maps in route builder

Hi - wonder if anyone else is suffering this, or has found a way round it - I've been through the recent account setup for the static maps API needed for route building these day, and when I ctrl+G, sure enough, the blue circles spin and I get a map - from far enough away, there is enough detail to ...

Re: Worth Valley Railway from Steam Sounds Supreme

I was umming and arring about it - but there's clearly a lot of work gone into it, and there seems to be a lot of stakeholders involved who will all need to take a cut, so I see why its priced as it is. So for £18, I've pre-ordered it - the other element that interests me is all the assets that have...

Re: West Somerset Railway

I’ve just watched Alan’s video review and it pretty much sums up how I feel about TSW at the minute. Some of the immersion is going backwards, even from TS2018. Looks great, if not a bit shiny, but scratch the surface and there’s not that much. Think his prediction of dumbed down for Xbox is getting...

Re: dtg pulls the plug on fsw

I've been reading a few other (mainly flight sim) forums, and I believe there is some cause for concern. There is a long and detailed post from someone at PDMG detailing their interactions with Dovetail on Flight Sim matters, and the narrative (I believe) draws parallels to the to date experience wi...

Re: What's next for TSW?

Does make you wonder whether they've bitten off a bit more than they can chew, having TS2018, TSW, Flight Sim(s), Fishing (!!), it's a lot for a dev house to manage. It's a shame not to have more new content, but I understand that it is more difficult to build and get it right, I'm more disappointed...

Re: Identifying and removing unused/unwanted assets

I've just started a backup of my TS20xx folder as I haven't bothered since 2016, with a thought based on this thread to tidy up unused assets - my railworks folder is 214gb! Definitely needs a new years diet I think!

Re: New route for TSW

Me too, supported the TSW first couple of releases, but zero interest in this. I agree with the poster that said it felt like it was continual support for a Beta. They need to get the dev tools out so people can start building things and sharing them. This releasing of limited end to end stuff is dr...

Re: New game new graphics card

Well, tried both, and it actually seemed a couple of FPS worse with the 670 in allocated to PhysX. So looks like it's not worth the extra electricity.

Anyone interested in a 4gb 670 by any chance.... 8)

Re: Graphics and FPS problems

Just added my new 1070, and was a bit disappointed to not get that much of an increase in FPS. Had a bit of a tweak around, and got the basis of "high" at 2560x1440 running at around 31fps, except where another train goes past and it drops to ~24-ish. But looking at CPU usage, it was giving my i5 a ...

Re: New game new graphics card

Just bought a GTX 1070 that should be here next week. Ought to be a decent step up from the 670 I have now, especially as SLI doesn't seem to make a difference. Intend to try leaving one of the 670s in (without the SLI bridge) and have it running Phsyx, and compare it to it without, see if it make a...

Re: TSW pre-order

Yeah, mines turned up in my account, downloading it now, no word from their support though, pretty poor. Off my list for pre-orders for sure.

Good luck to those who still haven't got their keys......
