Re: New Class 45
The wipers.. I have a feeling that I need to rescale every anim in the cab to get the wipers to slow down.. lesson learnt next time I will use enough keys. :-? Paul - You can hack the ia/ban animation file, there's a parameter/byte which controls frame rate, and has the effect of speeding up/slowin...

Wilson, Brewster, Koko, and Puffer Pete. But most importantly - Action Chugger! (must be able to fly)

Re: Bundle Packs
And I'm (finally) due to get my broadband upgrade on the 12th. That's rather fortunate timing250787 wrote:Offers runs until 14th March according to the latest railsimulator.com newsletter.
It's just a shame Sly's wonderfull diesels aren't in the bundles.

Re: Cab Control Car
I thought German Railroads managed to get this to work with their Class 143, but on closer inspection, the driving trailer's .bin files seem to contain most of the Class 143's own internals... :( Rik. As I said above, that's my understanding - at the moment it's safer/easier to model "symmetrical" ...

Re: Train brake suggestion
Most of the things being requested here can already be implemented with the existing RailWorks (or for that matter Railsimulator). People shouldn't get too hung up with the % brake display thing, it does not, and has never, indicate the degree of braking, but simply the movement of the brake handle....

Re: Class 317/1
Yep. One of my reasons for this subject is that, depending on timeframe, 317s are prototypically appropriate for outer commuter services on the MML, WCML, EML or ECML. More versatile than a 380shebarose wrote:did the 317s ever run into Euston

Re: Cab Control Car
I don't think I'd recommend using the zero or low powered engine technique, assuming RailWorks still has the problem with the tractive effort output of the driven engine limiting the output of trailing engines. Also I don't think you can have consists of dissimilar engines, e.g an electric and a die...

Problem is that it is a hack of the mesh (geometry) file. Usual rule of thumb is that you are not allowed to modify and upload such stuff, so I think I'd need a nod of approval from rs.com.

Re: Very good news about German Signaling
If you are making your own trains/signals/balises then a pretty decent implementation of PZB can be done with the existing software, no need for "core updates". LZB would be a different matter howeverSaMa1 wrote:PZB anyone?![]()

Re: Using Rail Simulators in RailWorks.
I find it astonishing that no one used the 3DSMax sources published a while ago to make a 2-aspect distant. All you need to do is take a yellow light from a 3-aspect signal and stick it into place on the 2-aspect stop signal (deleting the red in the process, of course). Now I don't own this softwar...

Re: Class 321/4 in dev by Oovee
I suggest listening to your cab ride video again because over around 30/40mph the motors are slightly audible from within the cab. Ah, maybe I don't have my TV sound turned up loud enough :-) What may also be a factor is which end is being driven. The formation is DTCO/MSO/TSOL/DTSO, so if you are ...

Re: Class 321/4 in dev by Oovee
Yep, most of the sound comes from the traction motors, with some contribution of "whine" from the transformer and thyristor pack. The reason you get two "screams" on that video is that it is a double set with two power cars. I can predict that if the supplied sounds are accurate you will probably ge...

Isn't that functionality just down to the individual keyboard mapping for each specific loco..? Is the way the "B" key operates (a toggle) hard-coded into the game...? I think we should be told :D I too would love to see proper two-tones implemented... Rik. Remapping keys is easy, in any type of op...

Re: HSt acceleration
Can I ask a side question, kind of an inverse, about deceleration? If you cut the throttle at 100mph and coast on level track, at about what rate will the HST speed decay - 5mph in a minute? Less? More? I ask because I'm setting up some physics for an EMU and was trying to decide on suitable train r...
