Re: Class 317/1
I have just tried it and the pantograph doesn't go up still By the way, does David have any thought on this? Not without more information, no. Is your Railsimulator fully patched? Are you using the "normal" or "simple" (simp in the name) DTSO? Are you starting driving the train in the default direc...

Re: Railworks 2010
Sigh, I don't like posting in threads like such as these but this is getting ridiculous: i think forward development should be halted in order to fix well documented errors I DON'T want forward development to be halted to fix individual's "perceived" errors. Democratically that should negate the abo...

Re: Just an observation
Hmmm, that didn't really help seeing that if its unpowered it cannot slip because it cannot move Ah yes, I hadn't paid attention to the loco being an 0-6-0, so that would be the case. Only other lines of investigation I can think of are different train lengths (there's an "issue" with adhesion and ...

Re: Just an observation
Edward The relevant new bogie blueprint line for Railworks is <Powered d:type="cDeltaString">eTrue</Powered> or eFalse as appropriate. This appears just before the <Axle> line. Warning! - if you edit any blueprint XML incorrectly and create syntax errors it may cause your Railworks to crash, even wh...

Re: Just an observation
hi, i changed the dry friction to 0.1500 wet friction to 0.1000 snow friction to 0.0750 Any help? Regards Edward Those modifications look fine, not sure why you'd get problems. Mind you I only experiment with the diesel/electric sim models, perhaps the steam model behaves differently. As maddog sug...

Re: Just an observation
Which parameters did you modify, and to what values? If you put in unusual amounts you may confuse the physics and get some strange behaviour.

Re: WIP Thread 2 - Anything new for RailWorks
Wow, people have been busy here, Some nice 317 skins. I've actually done an NSE version (probably cruder texturing than the pictures here!). Just need to tidy it up and post it. For more recent TOC skins I'm actually planning a version with a more appropriate configuration for recent years - i.e no ...

Re: Class 317/1
As I've said elsewhere, the pantograph will exibit strange behaviour, particularly if you are coupling/uncoupling. The lights are like any RS-RW lights and have the same limitations, ie they won't necessarily swap when changing ends. Overmaze - 10minutes to 50mph is certainly slow, going to have tro...

Re: Class 86/58/317 - Keyboard commands
Would making the panto car an engine possibly allow the motor sound to cut out when the throttle is cut? Possibly, but it might then suffer from the dreaded "idling trailing engines" problem. It also creates headaches for working out the power curve simulation. I might be able to use lua consist me...

Re: Class 317/1
Two diesel locos, iirc -- the 58 and the FP40H and accompanying Amtrak "cigar tube" stock... :) Hey, don't forget the GP7 as well! It doesn't seem to have attracted much attention, but it's probably my favorite. I like the "ye-oldi" cab, with the big ammeter, plus the great fallen flag name "Seaboa...

Re: Class 86/58/317 - Keyboard commands
I didn't animate the wipers. There are "issues" with the Blender animation exporter which make this difficult. The pantograph not rising until you move is a "feature" :-) I wasn't able to work arround. If I do a Railworks specific version there are other techniques I can try in order to fix this. Yo...

Re: Class 86/58/317 - Keyboard commands
If you copied the mapper blueprint across the most likely cause of this problem is that the blueprints.pak file in the assets\kuju\railsimulatorcore directory has not been deleted. Remember there are many "blueprint.pak" files; you must delete the right one. shebarose - you're right, life's never as...

Re: Class 317/1
An appropriately timed post, as I've just uploaded this to the library. It's version 1 (I don't do betas)arrivatrainswales wrote:Cool, are you gonna release this on UKTS, a beta version or something?

ps As I now have Railworks I've tested it on this as well and it seems to install and work ok.

Me too! Got my broadband this evening, went straight to Steam to buy the mega bundle. At that price, I'd have to be mad not to
Dave
ps
Means I'll be able to look into updating my stock for RailWorks, and finally finish that 317!

Re: Sound Proxybin Controller Names
The standard controllers for the doors are DoorsOpenCloseLeft and DoorsOpenCloseRight. These must be defined in the relevant wagon's controls section. If you are not using the normal "t" means to open the doors then you'll need the "applies to consist" set true for your own defined control. I don't ...
