Are you sure you're using the gearing right, 1 until about 15 mph, the go to 2nd then increase the gears gradually. Also, remember to go back to 1st gear when starting.

When you've got a SR terrier in the branch platform, an O1 sitting in the opposite platform, and a West Country hurtling through on some Pulmans in the centre it oozes with atmosphere

No, you have to wistle to open the doors, the if you stay in there for over two minutes, then you have to wistle again to open them

In padington 2 Penzance it's used at Swindon for the doors to open in the works.
