Re: Victory Works
It drives even better than it looks. If you only buy one steam loco (SMU? Not sure that works...) then get this one. Its ideal for cutting about Hertsbobs High Wycombe route.

Re: WCML Over Shap
Does anyone know if WCMLOS takes advantage of the new passenger density options? Thanks I really hope an Andover, Rochester,Southampton and Exeter route doesnt get off the ground, or these acronyms are going to get out of hand.... Re Shap and speed, it might be worth checking to ensure you dont hav...

Re: WCML Over Shap
Only issue I have is there are some missing textures on the 'dot matrix' style time/destination displays on stations. Can't say the lack of point motors concerns me considering the amount of detail elsewhere - whoever went in and put in all the limited clearance boards must have the patience of a s...

Re: WCML Over Shap
Ive bought myself some 1975-1976 British Rail timetables, but at 20 quid they are a bit pricy. OTOH, they seem collectors items. Ive seen examples selling for 60 quid plus online. So it might be worth copping them now whilst you can. One alternative to Simsig (thats a good suggestion btw, ill have ...

Re: WCML Over Shap
Jonathan worked real hard on the brake simulation and the power output of the Class 87, and I think it shows. You can really crank 110mph out of this thing now.
Dont forget the Class 47s though. They are much improved on the version that shipped with Newcastle York.

Re: WCML Over Shap
Just got it and well to be honest first impressions aren't that good. 1. It looks nowhere near as good as some of the more recent UK and German routes 2. There's no point motors on the points 3. Missing speed warning boards 4. MK2 coaches have MK3 sounds applied Still the best UK route to date thou...

Re: WCML Over Shap
I think you are all in for a treat. If you remotely like BR diesel or electric traction, or just liked WCML North, then its the route for you. I liked the Morecambe section, interesting track layout from Heysham, its got early pattern DMU written all over it. Happy coincidence for me of course, it m...

Re: New RSC Route: Somewhere around Dawlish
Because that's no fun Ash. ;) ;) ;) I would also prefer to see some more history. BR Blue would be ideal... You could run whatever you liked from steam to modern without too much imagination warping. Perhaps with a little imagination it would be easy to 'restore' some of the track rationalisation f...

Re: New RSC Route: Somewhere around Dawlish
Hi This might be controversial, but why is there so much animosity between people here, there are just as many of the older generation who know what this route was like in the mid 1950's to 1960's. I don't mind modern era routes but just for once there is a route crying out to be a steam era one and ...

Re: 'GEML Enhanced' Patches.. Distributing route modifications ?
Okay success finally!! Took at least 20 attempts over two days :P Yes, you arent the only one. I recall Vern telling me it took him several attempts to get his workshop route to work, and that was only about 18 miles. Mine must be about 76, and yours is about 65, so it definately seems clunky whate...

Re: 'GEML Enhanced' Patches.. Distributing route modifications ?
The point of this thread was to figure out the correct way to distribute this when i'm done.. I just tried to upload the route on Workshop for a trial run and all went well until it said "Uploading", sat at 67% for a while then said "Failed to Publish". Very useful message there.. :\ I had the same...

Re: The Maerdy Branch Line Exclusive
You can carry up to 20 empty coal wagons quite happy with the 56xx. Might even be a few more, the trick is to try and keep your speed, up, get in the right reverser position before you hit the really nasty gradients, and use the blower if you ever come to a stop in a station, to get the steam up. Ke...

Re: Eddington Junction to Evercreech
Perhaps it will allow you to up the route (and leaving missing elements as milk bottles) and you an up the new assets elsewhere. I dont know, ive not tried it. Nope, afraid not. I tried that and it does a sanity check before uploading and bombs completely if you have non-Steam assets in it... It wo...
