Try eBay. I've bought a few old timetables from the 70s on there. They're in Collectables-Railwayana. What you might find though is that it isn't easy to run msts trains to real timetables for many reasons, and it is often easier to make your own timings just loosely based on the real ones. Hope thi...

Salopiangrowler, I can assure you that Class 313 EMUs did work into Moorgate, and that they drew power from a third rail between Moorgate and Drayton Park, where they changed over to overhead collection. For your information, ALL of Mideast Plus is electrified with the wires out of sight at a huge a...

Ha ha. My school boy German is pretty rusty but I'm sure that password is ' Pencildick' !!! And they say Germans don't have a sense of humour.

Unfortunately the 313 won't be on the dvd but Class 31s and Cravens units sound great in the tunnels!! PS The info displays will be slightly different on release,...

I would make the first box bigger then remove the unwanted bits using the push/pull tool, so you end up with one box of the required shape.
Cheers, Dave.

I had seen that tutorial and originally tried using photo textures. I made the photos square and had everything working but thought I would try to model the effect I was after instead. But I think I will now try to create painted textures and 'pin' them on to my structure. I could then presumably us...

Many thanks for your help David, I will have to have a re-think on some parts of the model. The diamond cut-outs are indeed drawn onto the physical shape then deleted to make them disappear. I hadn't given alpha channels any thought, I didn't realise I could use them in sketchup. That sounds like th...

Had another look at my bridge, it is nearly 900Kb, not Mb. It still sounds a bit big but not as massive as I thought. Still don't know why it won't export. One of the outer sections alone has 57 faces and 1145 edges. Dave. Update: I have found the details. 9713 Edges 1745 Faces 1 Group 1 Layer 25 Ma...

I have already seen the centre section and two outers working alright in msts. It was only after adding some more outer sections that my troubles began. Framerates through the area where my bridge was were good. However, I have also had to replace some photo textured faces with fully modelled ones. ...

Trouble exporting to msts

I have built a long footbridge made up of six sections, one central and five outers. I think I have created a 'group' but cannot export succesfully. I get an empty .s file and no mention of a .sd file. Is there an easier way of exporting than by breaking the model into its component parts again? Ano...

This is what keeps msts going, well done Niall. My interest in the sim has grown continuously through the same process, getting stuck in and having a go! I've recently started 3D modelling aswell, a whole new area of msts interest. I rarely get time to drive trains now though. Keep up the good work....

In case anyones having the same problem I will answer my own question now that I've worked out what I was doing wrong. First take the Jpeg of the texture from the materials folder and re-size it to 128x128, 256x256, or 512x512 using your favoured editing tool. ( I use Adobe Photoshop ). Now send the...

Resizing textures for trainsim

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to re-size sketchup textures so they are square for msts. I am using the 'image size' window in Photoshop to make the changes but they either save as their original size or they become corrupted somehow. I did a few the other day without problems so I wonder what I...

I already have a dvd drive so, for me, that would be the way to go. In the future as routes get larger and/or more complex there will be a growing need for dvds instead of multiple cds but in the meantime how about offering both options, maybe putting the price up to £5 to cover additional costs? T...
