I find if you delay loading passengers at Reading on arrival, the AI traffic runs through OK, so I don't know what the problem is with the original platform. Perhaps just another of those MSTS things.

Are the Brake types on Locomotive and rolling stock of the same type, if not they will not release and cause enormous drag for the locomotive.

Yep, agree with you all, I changed in AE the arrival platform at Reading to number 5 (don't forget to re-check Reading as a stop) and the activity ran OK to the end.
