Re: Rail-X Pics
Rail-X, that's a bucketload of awesome landscapes you have coming there! Grats and I'm really looking forward to getting to drive trains in these.

KRStool, now with texture scripts
Greetings to all. Update 445 Since the last release I've fixed several bugs in KRStool2 and added easily accessible scenery scripts for those wanting to experiment. The download locations remain the same as before: http://jkansoft.mine.nu/cgi-bin/jkansoft.cgi?page=7 (main) http://jkansoftdl.mine.nu/...

Re: KRStool2 Update 444
Ross, do you know what version of the .NET framework is installed on your system? (Other details such as the OS you are running might be helpful too in yielding a clue.) What is the file size you are getting when downloading from either site? If all else fails I could try to create another download ...

Re: AI/Pathing problem
Thanks for the tips, I had not thought of inserting extra destination markers along the line (although was considering a portal having read a few more threads here). Yes, there are signals protecting the junction between B and C from both directions and next to each line leading to the switch. I hav...

AI/Pathing problem
As has been mentioned here http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=86123&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=15#p1035644 as well as in plenty of other places in this forum, there are some rather disconcerting issues with the AI/Dispatcher in RS. It looks like I'm running into one of them and I can't get...

KRStool2 field test route
This is an in-progress album of a route built heavily around KRStool (the terrain texturing, vegetation, and towns are all auto-generated). Enjoy!

Re: KRStool2 Update 444
Dick, glad to hear the download worked for you this time. Ross, if both sites are giving you problems, you may have more luck at http://www.3dtrains.com . Marc who admins that site has kindly offered to mirror KRStool downloads and he tends to keep everything up to date. Sorry to hear some folks are...

Re: KRStool2 Update 444
The main site is known to sometimes break downloads. You'll probably have better luck using the mirror site. (It is listed if you go back to the above URL).
Good luck,

KRStool2 Update 444
For all route builders, an updated version of KRStool2 is up. This one comes with a new scenery wizard to make scripting a snap. For more information, check http://jkansoft.mine.nu/cgi-bin/jkansoft.cgi?page=7 . A visual how-to on the script wizard has been added as well under KRStool2's page. Happy ...

Re: Is RailSim too complex?
I can only really speak from the route building side of things, but it took me much longer to put together my little fictional Nordic route for KRS than for TRS - probably to the tune of some 80-90% (longer). We've already touched on the fact that track laying is the easy bit. It's the scenery plac...

KRStool2 up for grabs
Hello all. After what seems like months of procrastination, I managed to get a WIP release of krstool2 out the door. An initial info and download page is available at http://jkansoft.mine.nu/cgi-bin/jkansoft.cgi?page=7 . My apologies if the site is slow; Marc of 3DTrains has been kind enough to prov...

Re: KRStool up
Dick, it is not possible to selectively remove objects with the current KRStool although that's something that will be possible in KRStoolII (work in progress). The new version also has a scrollable/zoomable land view to make terrain surveying much easier. For now, if you are dissatisfied with the t...

Re: KRStool up
Nick is right, you can edit the registry and get it started that way. Another workaround that was added to the latest beta is to use a command line switch. First, find out where in C: your KRS is installed, then find out where you extracted krstool. Suppose you have krstool in C:\krstool and KRS in ...

Re: KRStool up
Thanks for that. I was stupidly renumbering the textures in sequence. It works properly now, though I am still wondering how to enlarge the patches as some of them are unrealistically small and the shapes of fields generated are sometimes very strange. It strikes me that this tool will be more usef...

Re: KRStool up
The program does seem to run ok. But I have not seen any new trees?? What triggers the application of tree objects? Is it a forest texture? I have two very simple test tracks. Single tracks & no objects. In the program I get a black Terrain Sat Preview. Is there some minimum criteria for a route to...
