Hello Chris, and all. The sound files used by the ELR Black 5s, for example, seem to work differently to this. The exhaust note is almost as much of a crack as is the real thing, very impressive. When coasting, you no longer hear the loco's exhaust beat, but there are different files used to create ...

I'm going to have a crack at it, when I've sourced the 'clanks'!

I've always felt that The Beatles were inspired by Staniers when they wrote the music for Penny Lane.
You'll know what I mean. :D

Best wishes, Bob.

From my experience, no they don't!. The 'puffing' sound of the loco just slows down as you slow down, there isn't a coasting 'mode' where you can hear motion etc. In some of the steamsounds.org files, there is a valve squeak section, but it isn't quite what we're referring to on here. Best wishes, B...

Hello John, That's precisely why I've decided to see what could be done about it. I've heard it on several LPs, I also have on one of my own cassettes, a recording of 80079 at Newport (with 43106) on the Welsh Marches Express back in the 80s. When the locos run past light engine, the standard 4 soun...

I think that the fibreglass mouldings would disintegrate totally in the event of a collision, and the momentum and weight involved would not be influenced by a few bits of plastic!

Black 5 coasting sounds

Hello.
Does anybody on here have a sound file of a Black 5 when coasting? I'm after the 'clink-clank-clink-clank' (!) sound in particular.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Hello, just out of interest, are we likely to see the 365s on the MT site too, or perhaps here on UKTS?

Many thanks, Bob.

Nene Valley / Great British Steamers locos

Hello, is it my imagination, or are the Duchesses vastly overscale? They seem to dwarf stock from other sources.

Snow texture transtex errors

Hello,
On a couple of routes that I've installed, I'm now getting error messages about some snow textures with 'transtex' in the filenames. I've gone down the Common Files direction with Route-Riter, and have used the 'Improve Snow' function.

Are my problems caused by Route-Riter?

Best wishes, Bob.

No Extended Shape Data

Hello. I've just reskinned a loco, and included all the original .ace files, but renamed the .s file to the new loco number. It's ok in Conbuilder, Train Store, Route-Riter and Shape File Viewer. When I try to run the sim, I got a pop-up saying 'No Extended Shape Data for...' Can anybody help me ple...

Hello. If you can extract the file to a temporary folder on your desktop, eg MSTStemp, you should get two folders- GE FO, and GE TSO. Drag those two folders into your TRAINSET folder, and all will be ok. You may also get a consist file to add to your consists folder.

Best wishes, Bob.
