Re: Identflying EB's Route
I would say it's probably meant to be Ashford Iternational but what a French TGV is doing behind the Eurostar I haven't a clue. Michael Wrong! Since when have the TGV's been dark blue? If I'm not mistaken, I think an experimental TGV wore that shade of blue but not all over the vehicles. It'...

Re: Identflying EB's Route
Looks like somewhere on the WCML, Tamworth flyover??? stock is easy :D their fictional liveried 66 and wagons from Sodor Island! 40058. I wouldn't say there. I cannot think of a junction like that on the WCML. Another clue: look at the overhead wire gantries. If it's a non-HSL route then it is prob...

Re: European Bahn returning to MSTS
I got the Great Western add-on for Christmas; it's a route I know very well so it has a lot of appeal to me. I have got other EB add-ons such as the first 3 ECML ones they produced; the MML, WCML, and LSC. I am therefore familiar with the quality of their output and pretty much knew what to expect w...

Re: Work Experience
I had a work experience placement at a day care centre and I spent virtually all my time there playing pool and reading Internet message boards. I had no choice but to do that placement (they wouldn't let me swap it) and it was a wasted week as I learnt nothing from it. Thankfully, other work experi...

Re: Work Experience
I tried to get work experience on the railways when I was in year 10. I'd still love to work on the railways, but that would be my alternative career plan as I want to go into Journalism. If I remember rightly, my Dad tried to get me a placement at First Great Western (he knew the Managing Director)...

Re: National Express East Coast
as it's early days, surely your comments reflect more on the previous incumbent than the new operators as they will be yet to fully unleash the power of their customer service skills and other abilities? What I was basically saying was that the quality of the customer service was poor. I regularly ...

Re: National Express East Coast
Travelled back to London from York today with NeX.
Their customer service is . and NeX are already living up to what I expected of them.
I know it is early days, but I am hardly impressed with them so far.

Re: A sad memorial
Nick, further to your point, from what I understand, one of the problems with the International platforms is the height and that will need to be adjusted. I'm not 100% correct on this, though. I'm not to sure on that mate, the terminal platforms are built to UK specifications- i have a video of a 4...

Re: A sad memorial
Last time I looked, the platforms were part of the terminal. You don't leave Waterloo Station walk 500 yards to get onto the platforms - it's all the same place. Therefore only terminal alterations needed. Yes, the platforms are part of the terminal, but the platforms need to be altered (and in fac...

Re: A sad memorial
Especially when it could very easily be used for SWT services with NO work apart from in the terminal itself (that being the removal of the scanners) - my train each morning could easily be directed into platform 21 or wherever down there Wrong, absolutely wrong. I think you'll find that the platfo...
