Re: AltBus and AltRail - what happened to them?
Having been heavily involved I just saw the list of active users on that other forum and it is people who were in AltBus...Ironically my hazy memory makes me think that AltRail did better before AltBus but thats my twopennorth... It kept me sane when I was in New Zealand.

Another piece of cheering news (especially if you're in the North): I've heard tell that the Class 37 Locomotive Group's 37003 may be coming to work on the Wensleydale Railway (don't know how definite this is, though). It has arrived. And she has already failed once. We scared the living S**t :oops...

They managed it with the Wensleydale line! Yea but the slight difference is the Wensleydale line got on with it, Weardale have been messing around for 10 years, they spent money on wagons to sell on after restoration. I want it to happen, but I have my doubts over the whole project. Note that we al...

I have heard from certain airline industry sources that the reason they banned smoking was to remove the neccessity to triple filter the air before passing it back into the cabin saving thousands of pounds per flight. This makes me wonder whether it is health or economy leading the smoking ban. Beca...

On this subject of level crossings, the worst tend to be TMO and UWC crossings. Speaking from my runs as a guard this summer on the reopened wensleydale the number of times motorists come storming round corners just as you are closing the gates and don't know what to do about it at TMOs is amazing, ...

Oh joy, as if constant power failures at New Street causing me to resort to going to York via Manchester because it is quicker when Virgin XC dies becasue there are no spare platforms or routes isn't bad enough. Guess i'll be going to London on Chiltern this friday then. At least they run a great se...

CT are atrocious - the only redeeming feature is the '10 minute' frequency on the Cross-City line, at least you have a sporting chance of getting into New Street within the hour. The 323s come in two forms: Bad, or Slightly Cleaner (the latter have yellow doors). Both have windows covered in graffi...

Wensleydale
Just wondering, has anyone started doing a version of the wensleydale line yet. Was planning on doing one as can get full track diagams (updated for the loop we're building this christmas) as work there as a guard.
