No mate. You have played right into the hands of South Eastern trains by believeing, and passing on, their excuse. It was actually due to their new plastic trains refusing to work in the snow. If you don't believe me then try this line of thinking. All of South Eastern trains 411 fleet are based at ...

The driver trainer's are under the impression notch 1 is bad. If you're picking up speed, and all you're motors are working, then you can use notch 1 for as long as you like, because the build up of back EMF will reduce the ampage being drawn, and so reduce the work of the resistors. Several times w...

Snow isn't the problem, its the driver's skill. De Icers are actu...

Congratulations to The Daily Mail, for only just reporting this story. Of course they added their version of events, where the guard heroically jumps between the increasing gap in the coaches, to apply the emergency brakes to the front section of train, which will slow down the rear section. Hm, whe...

Peter, with regards to you're pass comm question. Most new trains now have a facility to over ride the pass comm application for 60 seconds, so the driver can bring the train to a stand in a more convenient location. You can keep resetting the 60 over ride as much as you like, but you still have to ...

442's aren't buckeye, their tight lock. You need a mushroom pin if you want to rescue them using a buckeye unit, so its easier and safer to drop the buckeye and use the screw coupling.
