I managed to edit the bounding box on the 166 in ShapeView - can you not do that? Would be a shame not to have the 166 if you're doing a present-day activity.

I lived in Guildford for 20-odd years with the Reading/Guildford line a stone's throw from the house. After the demise of DEMUs ('Tadpoles' and 205s) in the early 1980s the 119s were the mainstay. 117s were also used but that was quite unusual (as Reading-based units they tended to work the locals o...

Camera spec

I'm considering investing in a camera which has the following: optical/digital zoom in movie mode at least x10 optical zoom RAW or TIFF capture at least 1/2000 shutter speed I can find cameras which do some but not all of these - the Canon S2 IS comes closest, as far as I can tell (no RAW/TIFF), but...

It's not just me then...

I've also been trying to make use of that bit of route in an activity involving a diversion from Waterloo via Point Pleasant junction. Can't wait to get hold of a C stock; having D stock exclusively makes things a bit dull!

<pedantic> No, as LUL didn't exist in 1979! </pedantic> There are two London Transport trains - one CP stock (red) and one R stock (silver). These were replaced on the Circle/District by C69/77 and D78 stock. It's not easy to see in the first shot, but the CP stock has its driver's side doors open (...

Can't recall now, though it wasn't over 10! I tend not to get over 7/8 once I'm past Raynes Park. I did a quick sharpening up of the shots in Picasa, but no other editing involved.

All looking very good - can't wait to see the finished products.

NB David: I take it you mean 455/9, as the 455/7 has the ex-508 trailer?

Thanks, Terry. It's not a particularly testing activity - will try to do something a bit more adventurous as time goes by!

Headcode 72

My first activity in the public domain has now been uploaded to UKTS - do let me know any feedback via this thread. The scenario is a simple semi-fast run from Woking to Waterloo in the morning rush-hour. My machine is a couple of years old so once past Wimbledon things got a bit tedious (save/resta...

I believe there's a helicopter somewhere en route in Wupper Express (as well as fairground, etc.).
Those Airbuses at Brooklands on DC v3 would bring the plane spotters out in force too, I imagine! I know they've stored twin-jets there in the past - do they still do so?
