Heywood 0-4-0t Katie- as run at Ravenglass in the very early years of 15 inch gauge. In real life a new build with some original parts is currently in progress at Ravenglass.
How can you 'just find' an extra £1/4 million worth of work? I hate to think how many other locos could be put back into traffic for that sum alone. I've never seen an overhaul of a working loco (not ex Barry wreck) cost so much. Either the NRM are being wasteful with their cash or taken for a ride ...
That looks excellent now Tim, the colour looks more like the prototype, I know its an unusual colour to replicate well.
Route is now at a very advanced state with test activities being done and an invisible signalling system to control train flow, seen as radio control cant be replicated in MSTS!
Its a common fault with activities on single line routes with moving AI traffic that I've never been able to get my head round. Frustrating as it is I've never seen an answer to it.
Now solved. By fiddling with the signals ahead of it at the end of the next section! The sim didnt seem to like the layout I'd done there and caused problems further down the line!
Hi all, a problem that for the life of me I can't get around on my new route. The line is fully signalled with John/Edmunds BR(M) signalling kit. However the real route is radio controlled so the signals are sunk beneath the surface so s not to detract from that atmosphere, merely being there in the...
MY HRA interail pass (albeit a cheaper 'working members' one) was well worth having last time I went to North Wales- Ffestiniog day rover was 5.85, WHR the same price and I believe its valid on more lines round there. I can also take a guest on my pass at the same rate. It may well be the most viabl...
Cheers Paul, well considering I got knocked up from my warm bed at 07:40am and asked do I need to go home that day and was I fit (ie not hungover) to cover for the fireman (who was stuck on flooded roads) on the 08:10 light engine, I didn't do too badly. Had 5764 the day before too on a schools trai...
Can't seem to workup any affection for this modern junk, but if I was to pick something post-1960 it'd have to be the HST Ican't think of anything post-steam that has lasted so well and been so popular and efficent in what it does.
You had a better day than i had on sat firing Bradley though- it was heavy rain in the morning and the fog descended in the afternoon- last few trips I did were in the fog and dark- adds to the interest i suppose!
Four wheeled cattle trucks 4 times per hour (when they actually run) into Manchester and the other way 2 per hour to Southport , 1 to Kirkby and 1 terminates at Wigan for much of the day. I much prefer the line at my adopted 'second home' Panniers, Prairies and Manors mainly on a mixture of LMS, Mk1...
