Oooh err .. I'm not having much success with R&C. After all the shenanigans with not running the installme.bat, I now find that trains behave contrary to the laws of physics. As in The Philadelphia Experiment, they experience time travel: skipping bits of track, repeating lengths (the 'Groundhog Day...

Great looking stuff - where can one download it from? And NZ stock, too? I especially like Ba 480s and the X compounds!

It would be wonderful if a version could be done as GER No.1500 with the original cab + Belpaire firebox and glorious brasswork, GER blue, black border and red lining! See the latest Railway Archive ( http://www.archiveshop.co.uk/railway_archive.htm ) with a colour pic of a Claud in original GER liv...

Broadside has a habit of doing that doesnt it  Yes! Just imagine an early summer's day at S'wold. A few pints of Broadside at the Harbour Inn, then an afternoon relaxing in the sun on the Common, the smell of gorse blossom brought to you by a light and only slightly steely breeze off the Nort...

Correct, The 1930 and then 1933 restoration proposals for the Southwold did plan to use SG transporters, the line was built to an SG loading gauge anyway on bridges and such like (the swing bridge was 11ft wide I believe?!) Pitley My childhood memories of cycling across the remaining original span ...

I'll be back in the UK near my Leek & Manifold Railway book tomorrow, so I'll see what I can find. (I think the L&M was the only UK narrow gauge line that used them) The L&M had five transporters, four from Cravens in 1904-1908 and a fifth built by the LM&S in 1923. The Ashover acquired one of the ...

It is alleged that some hungry W&L drivers returning to Llanfair on the 2nd down train have tried to enter the tearoom to collect their sandwiches having forgotten to leave the footplate. Mistress F, Queen of the Tearoom, was not amused, but the structure still stands. Taking trucks with you to The ...

Yes - ENG files appear strange, but there must be way (out of here). Other folk are helping out Paul Holmes with ENG and WAGs for the Beyers so maybe there will be some spin-off. But if one considers these mid-size narrow gauge types as similar to small standard gauge industrials, perhaps there are ...

Here are some more images of No.15. Both at Castle in the rain (what's new?). You will be able to see the real thing: No.15 + replica Pickering later this year! This looks like ex-MoD stock. There was a sale recently of a system at a munitions depot in SW Wales. I wonder if it's the same. Does anyone know what gauge - 2' or 2'6"?

Wonderful! I've just finished reading the NB Atlantics and was day-dreaming of a big fat boiler on top of a GCR chassis (or something like that). I'm afraid I have little info other than what's in the NB books published by David & Charles. But I'm looking forward to thrashing out of Hawick up to Fal...
