I thought I had downloaded a Bulleid cab from here a few years ago, but I can't find it on my hard drive, so unless it has been moved/deleted I must have imagined it. There is also one in the Swanage route and I believe another is in Nene Valley. I bought several add ons purely for the cabs and soun...

Thanks for that Otto's default.wag seems to have done the trick.
It still seems strange that the problem only occurred with a tank engine, but what the hell - thats MSTS for you.

bin problem with tank engines

I have noticed a problem that only occurs with tank engines. If I am running a goods activity that requires dropping off the wagons, the first wagon in the consist cannot be uncoupled. It is almost as if MSTS thinks that the first wagon is a tender, it seems to uncouple but immediately re-attaches i...

I've just dragged a sound card out of one of my old door stop PCs and installed it in my latest, quite an improvement! One thing I noticed though was that even with the on-board sound switched off in bios the AC97 drivers were still loading up in windows and conflicting with my soundblaster ones. I ...

There is an LMS 4F cab on the 3DTS Branch Line Collection CD. According to my dad who actually drove them it's a very early one though. He only remembers seeing one of them that was like this. It's better than the Scotsman cab though.

It looks like there is a problem with the file me2se_setup.exe as there is no me2se_setup.exe-1.bin in my temporary folder, and it certainly didn't ask for one when I installed it. As a wild suggestion, if that is the file name it is looking for have you tried sticking a .exe in front of the -1? Ste...

You definately do not require UK1 for it to work, as I haven't got it but the installation worked perfectly for me.

I have to agree, for me cab views make a loco as I drive from the cab all the time. I have bought several commercial add ons just to get extra cab views for downloaded stock.

I've had the same problem with the 4th file the first 3 downloaded okay.
I tried downloading manually from the website and it seemed to work, but the finescale manager still shows that the 4th file needs installing.

The most likely cause of a crash from what I remember is the huge number of preset paths included - 600+?. The advice at the time was to archive the majority somewhere safe until they were needed.
Of course Trainstore will do this for you anyway.

The SECRP locos do not overwrite each other, I have three locos in that directory. The 3 plankers do overwrite but it doesn't cause a problem , I just assumed that the later upload was an update of the one I already had.

This is probably more a sign that I don't have time to play it enough, but sitting on my usual run from Bristol to Fareham today I was wishing that I had a PDA version of MSTS so I could drive a train whilst riding on one.
(Unfortunately the laptop battery won't hold out for 2 1/2 hours :( )
