Re: Tilting

In BVE2/4 in conjunction with BRR (BVE Route Randomiser) there was an option to select tilting train, and any train could tilt on corners at speed. I don't know if it is possible in OpenBVE.

Re: Spoorsim - A Memory Of What Might Have Been...

I really liked SpoorSim. A while ago I found v1 for download, which gives quite a long route to drive, whereas v2 is more restricted to sidings and requires unlocking which is now impossible. The computer I had it on went down :( but I may be able to recover it, or find it for download again hopeful...

Indeed. This proves how unfamiliar I am with Steam!

Re: RSC & Steam

... and I can't name another simulator that uses the Steam system. Trainz has moved to Steam distribution now after the success of it working for RS.com and the silent majority of RailWorks customers, not as an exclusive distribution method yet but don't be surprised to see that in the next version...

Re: ship sim and windows 7

I got Ship Simulator 2008 last week (the same build as yours) and am running it on my Windows 7 computer. Occasionally I've loaded a mission, and the player ship doesn't load etc, but it works fine if the mission is exited and restarted. Also had a glitch where in walkthrough mode I fell through the...

Re: RSC & Steam

After my brief experience with RailWorks 2, I will never purchase another piece of software which requires Steam, or anything similar, even if it was the greatest program ever made! Simulation users have had to download and install content/patches/updates manually for decades, and I can't name anoth...

Re: Recently got WOS v1 & WOS v2

Cheers for posting that vid. I assume the earlier trains didn't have speedometers, but I haven't seen the cabs of the real trains. Anyone got any pics or vids of the PATH trains? Having no speedo means that the track monitor has to be used, and points are deducted for that. It would be pretty hard t...

Re: Recently got WOS v1 & WOS v2

Well I'd rather wait several months for them to iron out all the glitches, than to release it ASAP and attempt to patch it later. Hopefully it will be as good to drive as it looks in the preview videos, but I too have my doubts. I hope the physics and illusion of movement are improved, other than th...

Re: Stuttering and other issues (and my first thoughts)

Hmm, after less than a month it seems I'm done with RailWorks 2 for a while. Even MSTS gave me longer period of enjoyment back in the day. :( Until the core update comes, I might as well uninstall it and get the half-dozen gigs of disk space back, even though I don't need it. I'm having way too much...

Re: Recently got WOS v1 & WOS v2

I did a little test on the way out of Newark. I stopped on an uphill bit of track, and let the brake off. When the reverser was set to forward, the train didn't move, but as soon as neutral was selected, it started rolling back. On the U-Bahn, I tried a similar thing and the train rolled back on a h...

Recently got WOS v1 & WOS v2

I tried the PATH one first. Was quite disappointed at the lack of speedometer and brake gauge, and that all 3 trains had the same cab view. Also it seemed the train accelerated and braked way too hard and the gradients had no effect on the train apart from a few steep downhill sections. The power no...

Re: WoS 3: Circle Line

After seeing those videos, I will be getting this when it is released without hesitation. It has blown me away!

I wanted to get volume 1 or 2 to try meanwhile but can't find any in stores near me, and don't know how well it will run on my new Windows 7 64 machine.

Re: RW - The User Experience

This is one of the reasons why I'm scared to try and edit my local route to make the placements more realistic, in case I end up making the whole route and scenarios unusable. The first thing I would change is the station bridge, because in real life when the train leaves the platform and passes th...

Re: RW - The User Experience

I have had about 10 SBHH errors in 3 years of RS/RW.. 8 of which were due to me setting up blueprints incorrectly. I'd be interested to know how many crashes people get when running a default install with only RSC supported addons. I'm a new user of RailWorks 2 using it daily for the past 14 days. ...

Re: Something wrong with doors, help needed please ??

This has happened once to me on the Oxford free-roam scenario with the FGW HST. Rear door of the left side of the rear carriage was completely missing. It didn't happen the other times I tried the scenario.
