Re: For the members who dont like STEAM
Ian, you'll enjoy it. Opening up the new package is great, the new-ness smell, the wonderful manuals, the cool box. The eco-disc is terrible and as for Steam, I was left stranded for a few hours because I couldn't connect to the servers. I have Rail Works and I'm enjoying it, but I agree with the fo...

Re: Paul meets Rail Works - The Verdict...
I also hate the large windows what pop up every time there is a message what blocks your view and can't see where you are travelling. Hence, if the sim paused when these messages were on screen wouldn't that be better? That's how MSTS 1 works. That way you can read the message and not miss any of t...

Paul meets Rail Works - The Verdict...
Hi Folks. Right, my turn to give an opinion on Rail Works. There's been some heated debates about this from me even before I got it, and then I had some problems once it landed in my hands, but I've been railway-ing my way with it for the past two days now (bar sleep, work, shopping, dinner, etc) an...

Re: Is anyone going to make this?
I'm afraid I can't. These are externally linked photos, I don't have direct access to them. I didn't know the forum has a 800 x 600 max for images, it seems to be displaying fine for me. If it's too big, you can edit the post to remove it. Sorry about that.

Re: Is anyone going to make this?
I would love to have access to the irish Railway stock, in particular it's classing orange stock (new green colour trains are making their way onto the tracks but the orange rolling stock is still very present). Here are some photos. http://www.trainnet.org/Libraries/Lib019/IRISH.GIF (deleted by mod...

Can't activate on Steam!!!
Right, my blood pressure and rage are flying into orbit! For over an hour now I have been trying to active Rail Works over Steam and it's not working. I have the DVD version. I get as far as entering the product key, which I do. I then click Next and Steam says " Activating key with Steam ". About a...

Re: Internet requirement VERY disappointing
Thanks for the feedback on the Steam issue and Paul Jackson's stance on it.
And Chris, thanks for the feedback on my point, as I said, I wasn't attacking those who made the raised points, just wanted to put them into persective.

Re: Rail Works arrived, Disc is a disaster!!
Well, with a bit of force, I got the disc free. I'm now trying to install Rail Works but after I enter my key number, Steam tries to active the key with Steam, nothing happens for about a minute, and then a message pops up saying Steam server is unavilable!!! I have the product in my hand, the disc ...

Re: Internet requirement VERY disappointing
John, thank you very much for that, much appreciated. Can I just ask, what was Paul Jackson's response to the fact that 40% of train simmers are not online? What did he say about that chunk of train sim fans who are left out because of the Steam implementation?

Re: Internet requirement VERY disappointing
...i do not have, and will not be getting the internet at home! I use it for free at my local library. So why RS.com am i missing out on all these things for a game/simulator that SHOULDN'T require an internet connection?... ...It does irritate me slightly that there seems to be this assumption tha...

Rail Works arrived, Disc is a disaster!!
Well, I was hoping my first post about Rail Works, once it arrived, would be more possitive then bad, but it's not the case. Postman was late today, didn't arrive till aruond 2:00p.m., and he handed me a large bulky white padded envelope. I was excited, this had to be Rail Works... And sure enough, ...

Re: I have RW and this is what I think......of it....
Well I haven't received Rail Works yet, but my Nvidia 6800 256Mb card handle Rail Simulator very well. Your card has four times the RAM of mine and I'm assuming is a much more up to date model. Have you tried updating your display drivers? Surely your card must pack a punch with Rail Simulator and R...
