Downloading using NetScape
I use the NetScape browser, and I have previously been able to left click on the 'Download' button and the file requested has been downloaded using the NS Download Manager. I don't know whether something has been done to the site, but this morning, I tried to downlod a few files, and left-clicking o...

Is there an MSTS route of that Swiss main line that repeatedly loops on itself in the mountains (I don't know the name)? I saw a TV program of it once and it looked quite interesting. John I think you mean the Gotthard line. I think there is/was one around for that one, can't remember where though....

I don't think there is a definite answer to the original question, but please indulge me.... :) I've taken the B2P 4Cig sets (sorry, I'm a Southern Region period afficionado and can't get round calling them '421's) down the L2B (on which I had extensive travelling experience) and tried to get them t...

Four aspect colour light signals were introduced on the former GER line with the 1949 electrification to Shenfield, I believe, and was certainly functional when it was upgraded to 25kv - and I'm certain that line was not cleared for 100mph. I think many mainlines went to 4-light signalling when mod...

Original livery 'Belle's
Mike, just got round to installing/running your great looking 5Bel sets. One thing I did notice was that the rear of the units have red blinds... In original condition and up until the late 1960s refurbishment, they had the opal glass and stencil headcodes, so could not show a double red blind tail ...

On its final farewell tour it ran as a 15 car train as can be see in Southern eGroups photos. Mike Where are these photos? I was around virtually all day on the final day(s) of the Brighton Belle sets and I cannot recall any runs where all three units were used at the same time. Apart from problems...

I would agree with the sentiments about not preserving enough Multiple Units. The sheer number of those silly class 73s that are still knocking around... Class 73s are not silly! They are/were a novel and elegant solution to the problem of how you deal with unelectrified sidings when your major rai...

Fishponds Both these are in Bristol (the Rovers side) Cocklake Near Cheddar in Somerset (although last time I drove through there some wag had paint-sprayed out the 'l') :) For novelty value: Nempnett Thrubwell (near Chew Valle...
