Re: Atomic Album Closing

A picture is worth a thousand words. It is much easier to explain the working of MSTS and TSM with a picture or diagram. I value Atomic Album and would also be prepared to pay extra for it. I hope someone can find a way for me to bulk download of all my photos but I am going on holiday and don't hav...

Re: Looking for a new route

The Cambrian2 route is still available but at the high cost of $43.95 (£33.28)

The route is excellent but the wagons are mostly crude.
However I have made replacements.

Re: Pottery Lines Route

Found another problem.

NSP_Inglis040v2 cabviews aliases to BA_Common_cabs

This is not included with the route and will cause an error if you don't have Severn Valley route installed.

Re: Pottery Lines Route

The £ character is used by some modellers for static or low poly vehicles. One of the problem files is NS_Static_LMS_3FT The file names start with œ (OE) such as œ_BR_E_3F The name inside the file uses the correct £ character. I believe this is a problem if the maker and user keyboards differ. The s...

Re: Hump Shunting

I worked on the loose shunting for Highworth. The problem is that a vacuum or air braked wagon will apply the brakes as soon as it is uncoupled where as an unfitted wagon will run on until it runs out if track and derails. Reducing the brake force only caused a run-away on the gradients. I used an i...

Re: Private Owner's Wagons for Skipton Packs

I may have been wrong about testing all the wagons. since most of the wagons in the packs were upgraded over a long period of time, some may have been missed. When completing a model I use Polymaster to add LODS. I then compress the files using the Polymaster compresser. I suspect Polymaster makes c...

Re: Private Owner's Wagons for Skipton Packs

I have uploaded fixed versions of the Dowlow, Waterloo_780 and Long_Meg wagons. [uktsfile 37915] Thanks to all for pointing this out. The uncompressed files did not cause a problem during testing. Seems to work on some computers but not on others. Incidentally, the Dowlow wagon was based on Buxton a...

Re: Private Owner's Wagons for Skipton Packs

There was a problem with the uploads but It's a been sorted. Some how pack 3 got updated but managed to slip by the approval. You can get it here... [uktsfile 16430] Most wagons have been upgraded and new ones added. I have duplicated some of the wagons in area packs. Downloading the updated Skipton...

Re: Can't decide which tank car to use

The only suitable replacement for this wagon is NWE_45T_Chemical_Tanks but it has the wrong type of filler dome. But I realised that the correct parts were on the short chlorine tanks. Some easy work in TSM and a repaint produced this.... http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/80489/35T_Chlorine_Ta...

Re: Can't decide which tank car to use

TTA1 is a 35T Chlorine tank.

It has since been withdrawn and no equivalent is available.

Image

I suspect it was used because it looks pretty.

Best use file 33169 which would be the most common tank on the route.

Re: GWR 1923-1936 Top line speed?

The speed listed for each class of train is NOT the maximum speed. It is the average speed.

It is to enable signalmen to judge the time it takes for the train to clear the section and avoid delaying following trains.

Re: Snowplough

There is an American snow blower which uses the Cylinder drain cocks to represent snow.
But covering the track ahead would be difficult.

The joke at Motherwell was to haul the plow behind you.
You wouldn't get far but you could always get back. :D
