Re: Ugly textures with Dynamic lighting ON in night scenarios?

I agree with you Phil, I sit close to my LCD too and I certainly do not need QHD resolution (HD is just right for me). If Dell has HD instead of QHD I would probably try it but I do not want to sacrifice FPS, so Dell is out of my interest now... Well, I am returning the AOC with G-SYNC today and thi...

Re: Ugly textures with Dynamic lighting ON in night scenarios?

Thanks very much again for answer Phill. After couple of hours of additional tests I have found out that G-SYNC is not necessary for a smooth scene but the key is 144 MHz. This is what makes difference against my old 60 MHz LCD because it seems that it is high refresh rate that removes tearing and l...

Re: Ugly textures with Dynamic lighting ON in night scenarios?

Thanks to all for answers. Well I have just borrowed IPS monitor and dark scenes look much better. So I agree that the problem is LCD and not graphic card. The problem with my AOC G2460PG is that even with lowest brightness and contrast and Gamma settings the dark scenes are too much bright so that ...

TSxx 3D models in TSW?

I am curious if high quality TSxx 3D models (e.g. from Victory Works) and possibly their textures will be capable as a base for TSW models. If yes then it would IMHO heavily accelerate arrival of new add-ons for TSW. I can imagine all depends on limits set by UE4 as well as on limits set by the deve...

Re: Ugly textures with Dynamic lighting ON in night scenarios?

Well, I tried to use two other older LCD (TN) and I was not capable to see reported "ugly" textures even with max brigtness and contrast. My new LCD (TN) AOC G2460PG with G-SYNC has dynamic contrast ratio 80 000 000:1 and brightness 350 cd/m2 while my old LCD (TN) ASUS VW266H has contrast ratio only...

Ugly textures with Dynamic lighting ON in night scenarios?

I have noticed ugly textures in night scenarios with Dynamic lighting set ON - see attachments. Without Dynamic lighting textures looks OK. With Dynamic lighting ON AND some source of light eg. open firebox - floodlit part of textures looks OK but those in dark looks ugly. I have GTX 970 and do not ...

Re: Steam Locomotives in TSW

Hi shawster, I am relatively new to TS but I am steam nut too  So I am really curious about steams in TSW as well and can't wait for it. Driving diesels is a little bit boring for me so I probably won't buy US Sand patch route and will wait for steam edition too... Hoping the quality of new TS...

Re: TSW - Train Sim World

It seems (based on real beta footage vids I have seen so far) that there is no support for USB HID devices    IMHO sim like this should have axis support at least for main controls... I ask some of you with beta access to report this to official feedback forum. -------- Day 1 is rese...

Book about the British steam locomotives?

Hi, I am starting to learn about the wonderful world of the British steam locos and I am looking for a book that gives me a comprehensive view of British steam locomotives of the 20th century. I would prefer the book that gives me an overview of all main classes and versions with medium technical de...

Re: TrainSim Helper (Joystick/Overlay) release thread

Thanks very much Havner for great SW. I use trainsim-helper and it works great for my USB devices. Overlay info is also very good enhancement! Just one little question: I am not able to create workable .bat file to run TS2017 with Trainsim-helper (I would like to avoid sequence: starting TS, switchi...
